Bring the Cybertruck across borders🇨🇦

My cybertruck is almost ready for pickup, I’m located in Canada BC with a Canadian drivers license but I have an address in the US.

I’m afraid that the border agents are going to give me trouble when bring it over, I want to keep the truck plated in the US, and temporary have it in Canada. I called in they told me that Canadian citizens that aren’t paying taxes in the US aren’t allowed to drive US plated vehicles over, they have to be imported at the border.

As for permanent imports Cybertruck is currently not listed on the RIV list for Canada.

If anyone has any ideas for temporary bring it over it would be great appreciate

I applied for this with my Rivian R1T (I changed my address to the US to get it earlier) had it all set up and then for some reason Rivian had the truck approved on the RIV list before they were even selling in Canada so I just imported it.

If you temporarily import it you have to give them a date that you will bring it back to the US and then prove that you did

I thought I heard that Tesla no longer allows registration to Montana LLC without a Montana driver's license.

Anyways... You are asking for ideas, I am trying to throw things your way to see what sticks.

It's really the delivering state that the rules dictate. Tesla follows them. However they try to pre emt the rules to prevent problems at the end.

I don’t really want to deal with having to bring it out of Canada in the future haha

I’m trying to just pay the Canada tax at the border to just get here.
Maybe I’ll just drive on temp plates and just renew it every 3 months until RIV approves it.
