Trying to listen to music from the CB while working from the tailgate with power tools
I know I need to put it in camp mode but can't seem to find it.
all I can find is cyber-tent mode. and it seemed to work but couldn't get through a whole song
without shutting off or getting interrupted by opening the door or the outlets would turn off on me
I'm sorry but it seems so counter intuitive to put camp mode under Climate ?
I looked everywhere else except Climate. because I don't know what camp mode has to do with climate.
It's not like you can sleep in the cab while camping. I tried it 1 night and found it super uncomfortable.
For me there is nothing that can be done with the climate to make the interior suitable for camping.
It just doesn't matter what the temp is if you don't fit inside, I'm almost 6ft. and I don't think I'll ever try that again.
for me there's just no way. only thing I need camp mode for is music and leveling the truck.
So Yes Climate is the last place I would put Camp mode. constructive criticism only because I love you.

If you don't have a bunch of stuff in the back seat, you can recline the seats quite far. Most people can sleep in a recliner, in a pinch; you don't need to (not) fit sideways on the back seat.

Oh great, here we go again. It’s called Camp Mode in all Teslas because it keeps the HVAC on for environmentally comfortable sleeping. It was added to the Tesla fleet a few years ago, just like they added Dog Mode and Cabin Overheat Protection modes — all are different versions of climate control for subtly different reasons. It sounds like you want a Tailgate Work Mode. Maybe suggest that.

It’s not constructive criticism, friend. It’s clueless crankiness.

It’s one thing to be cranky, it’s another to be clueless - you combine them like no one I’ve ever seen before. Almost everything that you rant about has a known, non-controversial, logical explanation.

Which is why you have someone just above me saying “oh no here we go again.”

“Camp mode” is in climate because literally the only thing it does is control the >>climate controls<< for those who want to camp in their vehicle, or for example sit in it an extended period of time (like when at the drive-in), without the climate controls turning off.

You say that you can’t camp in the cybertruck [and this is intended to support your argument that it doesn’t make any sense], however, as was noted above “camp mode” came about - YEARS AGO - because people wanted to “camp” in their model 3s (a vehicle which is arguably much less camp-able than the CT)!

It was literally created for the purpose of making sure your climate control didn’t turn off (the normal behavior) while you were trying to sleep in your vehicle overnight, per owner requests. This is back in the days when Elon was focused mostly on Tesla, and you could ask him for something on Twitter and within months it would be in the vehicle via an OTAU. Joey mode is another example.

That’s it; that’s the whole story! That’s why it’s there. It’s completely and totally logical to have a setting that keeps your climate control on overnight under … ? … climate controls.

If you want a “Mo Music Mode” ask Elon, maybe he’ll do it. This is how so many features have been added to the cars.

He probably won’t, because as you have discovered for music, and as I did for keeping climate on at the drive-in, camp mode already does this. In reality it’s just “accessory on” mode like in any other car, but it has a cheeky name, (and brings up a campfire and a picture of a tent on the screen) because there’s a cool backstory behind how it came about.

Thank you. Please end this rant now.

(Well... it does adjust the suspension to level the truck)
Edit: nope, (cyber)tent mode is a separate toggle ?‍♂

Nope. That’s “tent” mode. Tent mode is a Cybertruck specific creation. “Camp mode,” again was created years ago for M3 users wanting to “camp” in the car. Didn’t and still doesn’t do anything to level the car, because M3 did not have air suspension.

Dang it, I tried searching the owners manual but came up empty (turns out you must search for "cybertent mode") and it was too cold to bother going out to check in vehicle. Which I have now done to atone for my error.
Tent mode is an option under Outlets & Mods.
