The fix involves welding a stud to the stainless. This is not something that can be done as a rework. Even if it could, a wrap would not survive the process.
Could the recall also include cantrails with the bad/incorrect glue?

Asking because my cantrails already had the stud and nut attached on the leading edge (I can see the nut and bolt)...but I still got the recall letter in the mail.

Wait so the remedy is out? I've thought the whole time anyone going in for the recall was just getting a reglue of the same old part. My driver side is coming up a bit and have been waiting to make a SC appointment. Do I need to wait to get something in the mail or can I just hit them up in the app? Got a few other things I need fixed as well so trying to get it all done at once.
The letter I got said, "Don't call us, we'll call you." basically. I hope they can do my lightbar and cant rails in the same visit.

Both versions have a front bolt, but with the old version the bolt attaches to the carrier bracket and the stainless is only held on by adhesive. The new one has the both welded to the stainless and then it passes through the bracket to the truck.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks.

I should probably know this but is there a privacy law about having a sticker present for Sentry Mode in Canada?

I got little dimples now, and new gaps. If you're happy with yours, I'd leave it be. I originally had a gap in the back, now I have one in the front. I dunno, seems over engineered at this point. Got waves of bends all down mine new ones too. Two thumbs down right now.

Reason #3263 why they will never be able to touch my car to do this until my cantrails literally fall off!

I’m all about getting recalls taken care of on my vehicles but this is a fiasco! I’m not dealing with those dimples or the “cigarette burn” marks that some other people have on the earlier replacement parts. Those alignment issues?

Just picked mine up from West Covina SC (FS AWD) for cantrail recall, wireless charger upgrade, and tire rotation.

Great service as always. Was given a FS AWD loaner without asking.

They checked tread depth on all tires, and determined no rotation needed. No charge.

They got the cantrails lined up perfectly. I was ready to rush home to install the wrap (got two pieces ready to go from @TWRAPS) But…I’m kinda liking the two-tone look, haha!!

I think it’s a two man job on mine to pull it down flush. I got it like 50% better but takes some 💪 and I need a tail to tighten the stud.
