Card Key melted !

I have been noticing the wireless phone charger is getting hot. Yesterday my wife drove truck to her mom and she called me saying the key melted has anyone had same issue

I have notice my phone getting too hot when I charge but I always thought it’s normal till the key got melted

Wow. I’m super curious what the service center will say as their main response to the wireless chargers being too hot is it’s a known occurrence.

it is hot but not hot enough to melt the plastic. I left my 2 phones to charge almost 2 hours yesterday during a day trip, it was not that bad and iPhone didn’t even pause working due to the temperature, which sometimes it did just by under the sunlight too long.

I'm going to have to call BS on this. It's too focused of a point and I would expect that there would be corresponding damage to the vehicle.

The pattern looks like something else cause it as well.


I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but things don't add up in my engineering mind.

The melted spot is the location of the chip.

I remember my CT being delivered with a notice to not put key cards in the phone charger, but I didn’t know why.
