See, you keep saying 'work truck' and then selecting the truck that carries and tows less mass, less safely.

I think of work trucks as getting to rough worksites, carrying heavy awkward things, towing things across town. Having more handling when the weather gets rough.

Not pulling someone's toys long distances.

If you have used a truck for work before would you wrather have.

10,000lbs of Towing Capacity for 440 EPA miles = 220 miles or in extremes 110 miles
or
11,000lbs of Towing Capacity for 320 EPA miles = 160 miles or in extremes 80 miles

Pretty sure most people would prefer the extra 120 / 60 / 30 miles of range.

As far as towing mass safely, the additional weight of the Silverado makes it safer for hauling large loads if breaking is your concern.

Also you can fit objects over 10' long in the Silverado
Cybertruck can take less than 8' long which is a standard board lenght

Both trucks have their place.
Silverado is an ugly but very capable work truck
Cybertruck is a sportscar minivan

Since most work trucks don't spend all day towing to the work site, probably the one that can pull the bigger thing.

Also, payload mass is almost half for the Silverado WT than the Cybertruck.

Both trucks have their place, but you keep using misleading statistics.

I am happy to look at any data that suggests the cybertruck can charge at a higher rate or go further than the silverado

I wish it was the other way around I really do, the CT is an infinitely cooler vehicle but it is obvious which one has about 30% more range than the other, and in the forum post about range, range matters.

Only numbers used are the ones reported by Chevy and everyone testing them, I wish the CT numbers were better but they are not.
Chevy is leading EV range as the title states at 460 miles on the Silverado, denying that and getting upset at me will not get the range of our CTs any longer, but hopefully Tesla will step up and get back in the game.

You mean by releasing the range extender which allows more range than the Silverado? Not sure why you're pretending this option doesn't exist.

The range extender does not exist, and it likely won't exist.

How is Silverado EV a work truck if the payload capacity is so low that the 5-seater Silverado EV with 6ft bed and supposed huge frunk DOESN'T EVEN have payload capacity for even a 4 person work crew (4 guys of 200 lbs each) and 700 lbs gear/tools/coolers (combined in frunk, cab, bed)?

With this reasonably sized work crew and their gear/tools/coolers, the 5-seater Silverado EV CAN'T legally tow anything on public roads even 10 miles because it is legally overloaded. Does not have payload capacity left for trailer tongue weight. Not even for a 2,000 llbs trailer.

In order to have payload capacity left will either have to leave 2-3 of crew members behind or all of the gear/tools/coolers (combined in frunk, cab, bed) or some other combination of left behind people & things.

The 5-seater Silverado EV can only legally get 400+ miles and pull even a medium trailer on public roads if the Silverado EV is very lightly loaded.

Silverado WT EV is not a "work truck" it is a compliance light duty truck.

As someone who was very excited about the 500-mile range spec, It's tempting to favor the Silverado now. But here's the thing, what I was excited for was an EV truck that is so *efficient* it could achieve 500 miles of range with a battery that isn't comically heavy and bulky. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

But the Silverado is going to drive like a tank, and be as efficient as a Hummer, with it's 200+ kWH battery and very high price tag. No thanks. I'll make do with Cybertruck's 340 miles of range, plus the option to add the range extender later on if I feel like I really need it.
I'm sure it is more efficient than the Hummer EV. It weighs 1000 lbs lesser.
