The weight will be a factor although the US and some European countries will allow electric Class 8 trucks to carry heavier loads legally without special permitting.
Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight tends to be lighter and fleet trucks working from distribution centers will prob be the target buyers for these trailers. Charging might be an issue unless long cords come with the trailer to allow it to reach a charger located with the tractor in mind.
