The sidecam washers are great, and very easy to install. Now, the rear one, that one, I've been waiting on.

Bought them and waiting for warranty to be gone to install. Someone mentioned needing to add pressure adjusters to the kit but I think my kit came with them and check valves.

Once they have the rear and side system both available I will be buying.

I am very curious, why hold off until warranty is up? Other than tapping holes in the rear tailgate and plastic - what are you worried about?

Im worried about any warranty claims being denied because of aftermarket alterations that can't be easily reversed.

I can’t think of a single situation where you wouldn’t be covered under Magnusun-Ross act for something like this. The only “mod” you’re actually doing a T into the spray housing’s pipe and drilling a couple of holes in plastic wheel surrounds and on tailgate. I’ve had various mods on my vehicles over the years and never had the SC even bat a eye.

I agree it is definitely a case of pure over thinking a situation, but I am already over 32k miles so it won't be long.

I am also trying to do less diy and have messaged installers today. My inlaws live with us. Father in law just had third spine fusion surgery and is a extreme handyman so I'm trying to practice what I am preaching about paying for some services to preserve time and physical function for more important things like playing with children/grandchildren.

I have the rear washer installed and it's awesome.
Just a tip - I installed it to my main wiper system instead of the front camera washer (if that makes sense).
You can't use the front camera washer when FSD is engaged which makes this solution almost useless unless you put your car in (D)rive. So, instead, I installed it to my main washer system to wash both my front windshield and rear camera system at the same time.
Worst case scenario, if you change your mind or want to revert to factory, you can repurchase/replace the rear tail gate for $1,800 USD and replace the T-fitting with with a L-fitting. No harm, no foul.
I'm 99% sure It does not void warranty - no one at my service center has ever said anything nor voided any warranty work.

That's pretty cool

For those that already have this mod installed, honestly, is it really that effective?

I purchased the full kit (rear and sides) but have been sitting on it for months now debating back and forth if it's worth the effort. I'm in FL, so no snow but quite a bit of rain. I'm ok doing the install, no issues there, just not sure if that sprayer really going to help clearing (most importantly) the rear camera

Yes it's effective. The only downside: Be prepared to use a lot of washer fluid.
You can minimize this by going with what @AverageJoe mentioned - Using pressure adjuster at the expense of lower washer fluid usage may defeat the purpose of getting dirt or grime off the lens. Rarely, during rainy conditions, I spray to get rid of droplet build up as well.

This makes total sense and keeps YOU in control of the washing while in FSD (except the front)

installs these, he has his own version for the side cameras, which uses this tiny nozzle availble on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G2LYP3FS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

which are under $6, then all you need is to drill the holes above the cameras (you take off the skirting with the cameras, so this is easy), and run some 1/8" tubing and a check valve if you;'d like them to not drip.. He is working on trying to figure out a solution for the rear camera, that doesn't require drilling a hole in the tailgate, we have both been thinking of solutions. The recent rear view camera penta prism 3D print uses Neodymium magnets to attach a 3D print to the tailgate, so that part is solvable, the issue remains on how to route the hose.

Maybe this is how both the sise and rear should be. I had no idea you couldn't wash front camera in fsd. Seems like a flaw
