Closed tonneau cover- cutout to see bed from rear window.

I did a quick search and didn't see any other posts- my awd vin 1094x is set up so with the tonneau cover closed you can see into the bed. I noticed when I had the tailgate open and noticed you could see In the cab- is this an iteration of design that may be pointing to a rear slider window ???

This has always been the case AFAIK. The slats do not cover the window when the fault is closed.
