I have only been invited to car shows. Was approached twice in parking lot, and someone else got my email.

Not sure I would go someplace I wasn't wanted just to prove a point and maybe end up looking like an ass hat.
Well you're always going to go somewhere where you are unwanted by someone. But the kids will love the CT. Do it for the kids!!

I took my Model X to a local car show. The show operator was a local community college industrial arts dept. They were very gracious and even made a gool 1st place best EV in show award with their milling machine. (I was the only EV) .
The following year i returned to”defend “ my title! The honey pot effect was operative when the day got very warm and my closed up car with AC became a very popular car to get into. Once the folks are in the car the questions are easily answered.
Go to the show or park adjacent to it… either way have fun and the joy you will show will entertain folks.

I recently offered my CT to two car show organizers of the same small town show and was completely and totally ignored ?
I still want to attend the show, regardless, but would it be tactless/rude to show up in the CT, which is sure to draw a crowd?

Edit: To be clear, this isn't a themed car show. It's just "bring your cool cars!" Everything from model t to lambos will be there.
Public place. ? I dunno...sounds like a subtle Netflix and Chill opportunity with added Boombox time plus spontaneous Lightshow time ...???

I took our Model S to a small community show. No one was obnoxious. I got a lot of questions and hopefully swayed a few ICE loyalists.

I think you might be overestimating the “derailing“ the car show bit. I was at a huge Cars and Coffee last weekend in Colorado, loads of rare high-end cars, Kyle from Out of Spec was there with his Cyberbeast and at the very most there were a handful of people around the truck, often just one or two. Had a good chat with him, interesting insights. Cybertrucks are rare in Northern Colorado and this garnered limited attention.

Well my CT is my daily drive so if I’m going to a car show it’s how I’m getting there. Sometimes I feel like a handler for a celebrity but the show must go on and nothing wrong with smiling and pointing out all the other cool cars at the show.

Often the interesting cars are just outside in the 'Public' Carpark....
I'm a car enthusiast.....even if l never knew what a CT was, l'd be drawn to it like a Bloody Magnet!

I would say it is a moral imperative that you drive your CT/CB to the show “as an attendee” and park it as close as possible to the show cars, especially if you can find one to park close to owned by said organizers.

But that’s just me.

Cheers

Yes, that is my fear/hope. Fear that it'll upset the hosts, hope that it'll improve the show for all in attendance.
The hosts have to realize the show exists for the spectators. Those who are not interested in the Cybertruck won't be forced to check it out.

Of course, if they have a rule "No trucks", then stay away. Otherwise, it sounds like you are invited even if individual organizers are trying to brush you off. You don't have to officially enter it to draw a crowd! Usually show organizers want high-interest items, that's the entire point of a show!

I went to a cars and coffee yesterday and it went exactly as you’d expect. Huge crowd, lots of questions, incredibly curious people, kids loved it, adults loved it, teens loved it and all the negative comments came via hand gestures as I left from people in other cars (all LS-powered, go figure) who would never actually say anything to my face, only as they’re driving the other direction.
Was parked next to a guy with a viper and he couldn’t get enough of the truck. I let kids sit in it for photos, and even took a “Tesla family” - they all 3 have one - for a test drive since the husband showed me his in-app configuration invite ?

As you were not invited, I think you should go to the show in the car of your choice (specifically the CT), park in the visitors parking lot and attend the show as a normal visitor. Get out of your CT wander through all the exhibits as normal, chit chat with your friends and other visitors and of cource the participating owners, and have a good time. No reason to upset the apple cart. And, of course, show off your CT to anyone who stops by when you pull into the parking lot.

As soon as I get mine I’ll be going to the first cars and coffee available. It will be interesting to see if I get love or hate or both ?
