The steering wheel is absolutely perfect EXCEPT

It’s way too hard. It needs to have a bit more cushion built in. It’s hard as a rock and hurts my palms at times.

I would pay for a softer more cushions alcantara or perforated leather version like on my bmw ///M
You gotta stop grabbing it so hard.

I'm serious, that can lead to some damage in your hands, Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel, pins and needles sensations due to a lack of blood flow.

Steering wheels are best held with a light, but firm touch.

And now, steering wheels are best not even being held.

Current Cybertruck owners can you tell us what you think about the steering wheel? Specifically the shape of the wheel. Did it take time to adjust to the shape? Love it or hate it?

It's like no other steering wheel on the market so want to know what your thoughts are?

Thanks!

It sucks. I really want to replace the yoke thing (I call it a “yokel”) with a proper round steering wheel. As others have posted, it only makes sense with the steer by wire. For me, it doesn’t make sense at all. It's especially irksome on long trips, where I’d like to drive with my left elbow resting on the arm rest on the door, and holding on to the steering wheel with that hand. But, no — the yokel is too small to accomodate this. For those who argue FSD solves this problem, for me it does not. I prefer to save $6K and drive it myself.

I've completely changed my settings for my driver profile since FSD 14.2 came out. Steering wheel all the way 'in' and 'up'. More leg room. Moved seat back another 2" or so. I'm 6'5" and I can still have an adult sit behind me (my kids are both tall college-age adults and they ride in the back regularly with us with no issues)

Before FSD, we loved the steering 'squircle' - it's amazing in conjunction with the steer by wire. But I couldn't imagine needing to hand over hand this like the Plaid yoke. Wouldn't want that.

It SUCKS! Yokes belong in airplanes, and the cybertruck doesn’t fly. I remember when His Elonic Majesty tried to force his yokel on Model S drivers. The only thing that saves the yokel for the Cybertruck is the drive by wire. It’d definitely be better with a real steering wheel.
