Not to be blasphemous, I’ve just never owned a truck. Since I have been driving SUV’s for a long time (now have 2 Y’s), do you think there may be an SUV version of the CT in the future ?

There's already the Model Y.Not to be blasphemous, I’ve just never owned a truck. Since I have been driving SUV’s for a long time (now have 2 Y’s), do you think there may be an SUV version of the CT in the future ?
I guess OP might be referring to a true 7 seater SUV like Rivian R1S.The Cybertruck is an SUV. The cabin is 100% SUV. The ride height can be lowered to SUV height. And the ride is SUV-like in comfort mode. Once you get it home you'll understand why it's truly an SUV already.
Excellent analogy - Yes, like Rivian’s R1S, but of course in CT type heritage.I guess OP might be referring to a true 7 seater SUV like Rivian R1S.
In what world? The Cybertruck is an SUV. The cabin is 100% SUV. The ride height can be lowered to SUV height. And the ride is SUV-like in comfort mode. Once you get it home you'll understand why it's truly an SUV already.
I really appreciate your opinion and will add you’re probably right about the platform leverage. TBH I just didn’t want to wait that long. It happens that I am one of the ‘senior’ followers here so three more years puts me well into my 70’s.The short answer is yes, there will be a CyberSUV.
BUT...the Cybertruck is better than any five-seat, two-row, SUV I've owned. Frankly, even the seven-seat SUV's I've own really only have five functional seats and a lot of storage - same with Cybertruck. However, the weatherproofing for the bed is quite poor so don't put anything back there that might get damaged if there is a light rain or snow. Yes, I've taken pictures and had it into the service center - 'within spec'.
As for how we know there will be a CyberSUV? Tesla likes to get maximum platform leverage and today lacks any SUV's in their lineup.
- Model S/X - same platform, neither is an SUV. Model X is a minivan replacement (watch the unveil).
- Model 3/Y - same platform, share 75% of the parts, neither is an SUV. Model Y is a crossover/wagon replacement.
So at some point there will be a CyberSUV to take on the Escalades, Tahoes, Yukons, Defender 130's, Audi Q7's, Merc GLS, BMW X7, Rivian R1S, Volvo EX/XC90, etc. and it will be marvelous. But not yet... Available units are too small relative to Tesla's larger objectives of greenifying transportation. I suspect the Cybertruck is all we're getting for at least another three years but I could see a CyberSUV coming in 2027/8 as part of a mid-cycle refresh and a way to continue to grow Tesla's addressable market.
The RAM, Silverado, and F-150 are SUVs?The Cybertruck is an SUV. The cabin is 100% SUV. The ride height can be lowered to SUV height. And the ride is SUV-like in comfort mode. Once you get it home you'll understand why it's truly an SUV already.
The overwhelming majority of them are used as SUV's. They don't carry payloads beyond kids to schools and malls and Costco/Walmart runs. So yes, they are classified as pickup trucks - but practically, most are used in place of/as SUV's. I've never owned a pickup truck, and consider my Cybertruck a SUV, and that's how I use it.The RAM, Silverado, and F-150 are SUVs?
They have a pickup bed and that classifies them as a pickup.
They seemed to have left the ‘style’ out of their entry. That’s where my phrase of the CT - “Heritage” applies!Xpeng already has one.

Sure, but carrying people is the job of a car as well? What about a bus?The overwhelming majority of them are used as SUV's.
