Not a single one of these guys likes electric cars so there’s that. They’re all petrol-heads. That said I do think the crew at CarWow are fair and do their best to make sure that the races are representative. And in the past when they’re not, and they realize they did something wrong, they will rerun them.I never saw that the Cybertruck was set to Beast mode, would have been nice to verify that at least, and of course it had some aftermarket lightbar on it causing drag and they raced 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile didn't they? No way the M3P is faster in the 1/4 mile, and with the half mile I can see where the top speed limiter is going to stunt the CB. Take the video as "entertainment" and not gospel on which vehicle is really faster. Why wasn't the CB in Baja mode for the drift? I think I missed something there...
A US-spec Hyland M3P is quicker in the 1/4 than a Cyberbeast. A Cyberbeast will do very low 11’s while an M3P is in the 10s.I never saw that the Cybertruck was set to Beast mode, would have been nice to verify that at least, and of course it had some aftermarket lightbar on it causing drag and they raced 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile didn't they? You expect me to believe that you have one of each of these and enough friends to drive them simultaneously? Inconceivable! ?I own all of these Tesla models . I will re-do this race soon and include both of my Cyberbeasts in hope for some redemption ?
I wonder if I’ll get similar results with our X plaid. It really is fast as f.
Anyine have any special requests?
make sure they are all at 90% SOC
Launch mode for all. Will show that they are all in plaid/beast![]()
Has anyone calculated just how fast the CT could go if not speed limited?would like to see the 130MPH limiter removed, beast mode launch start and then see if it performs the same
It just the tires. They have speed rating H for up to 130 mph. The beast gets up to that top speed pretty quick and you can tell the motors themselves have a lot more to give.Has anyone calculated just how fast the CT could go if not speed limited?
What is the limiting factor? Motor maximum RPM? Aero drag vs power? Aerodynamic instability?? Tires self-destructing???
I know the tires are the reason the speed is limited by the software. The question I have is, if that limiter was turned off, how what would become the new limiting factor? You may be ultimately right; the tires may fail first (dramatically halting any further spread increases!), but perhaps before that happens the aerodynamic drag at some speed would equal the power available and that would become the max speed. Or, maybe there is an engineering safety limit on motor rpm that would be reached and a new software limiting factor would become active. It just the tires. They have speed rating H for up to 130 mph. Yanni owns/owned the first CT in the UK. As of about a month ago, he was still working on making it legal. It was AWD so I wonder if he upgraded to CB.Not a single one of these guys likes electric cars so there’s that. They’re all petrol-heads. *Matt does have one friend who is a Tesla guy (I think he resells them) and often when he’s doing Teslas he’ll have him on the show. So, it’s interesting that he wasn’t in this group this time.
No he didn’t. That one that got impounded was first and it wasn’t his.Yanni owns/owned the first CT in the UK. As of about a month ago, he was still working on making it legal. It was AWD so I wonder if he upgraded to CB.
