I currently have a FS CT that I sometimes use to tow a small V nose trailer. I am thinking of getting a Cyberbeast and was wondering if the towing range would be better on the Beast with the additional horsepower?

Thanks

I towed with my FSCB from NY to PA and back. It was about 250 miles each way.
going to PA towed an empty car trailer, coming back had a 2014 S on it.
i was able just about 100 miles with or without the car each charge stop. Sorry I don’t have any graphs for W/M but at best I was 750, at worse I was just about 1000.
Here is what I looked it coming back with the car. Sorry If this isn’t exactly what you asked for, but it’s what I remembered.

Here are the charging stops with energy used. Guess someone smarter then me can figure out distances so come up with W/M

Slightly worse with same type tires due to base efficiency. However, the difference between AWD and Beast is dwarfed by the additional drag of the trailer.
Beast has less payload and rear axle capacity also (not an issue with a small trailer).

HP isn't the issue, I've towed a dual axle trailer with a tractor on board with both and didn't feel the weight with either. Range is almost the same full or empty, the issue is drag. My trailer gate folds up for transport and even though it is wire mesh, it drags like a brick wall.

This is the correct answer Drag is the killer not weight. Ive towed 8K Airstream over 3000 miles and smaller trailers the energy usage is almost the same on both.

The AWD is either the same or slightly better at everything from towing or hauling, to off-roading, when compared to the Cyberbeast. The only exception is the even faster acceleration of the Beast.

Gonna disagree on the off roading part... 😉

Ill have to find it, but I read the AWD is better at climbing and rock crawling due to the lockers and the CB better at Baja and mudding.

I've read/ been involved in those 😉
Tl;dr; my pov: even with locking axle differentials, lack of a center locking diff means traction control depends on the motor control loop. If this is so, independent wheels are more controllable.

My position: the argument regarding mechanical lockers is based on ICE vehicles with a locking transfer case. For those, loss of traction on one wheel only increases the force on the rest of tires 33% each. 4 tires to 3 tires, 1/3 extra, or 4/3 per wheel. This level of increase is likely to be within the grip of the remaining tires.

For EVs with separate front/ rear drive units, loss of traction on one wheel increases the force on the other 100% in the short term. Two wheels to one wheel.
Unless the remaining tire is on a high grip surface, the drive unit with slip will need to cut power and the other will need to boost power. This can be done with better control on the beast dual motor rear drive unit.

Sounds about right. The Cyberbeast packs an additional 230 lbs. of extra motor/inverters and that's not inconsiderable. The AWD has more range off-road too.
