I may be blind and missed it, but I did search to try and find the answer. Lots of topics and didn't really see what I was looking for.

I have a premium awd order in and the delivery was pushed back to May. Considering switching to an inventory demo beast with 1142 miles on it.

My big question is for those who've driven both in the snow. Which one handles it better? Different Ai models say different things all focusing on the virtual torque vectoring on the beast.

Get the demo beast instead of waiting.
So much awesomeness. I’ve got Nokian Hakkas on it with no problems. I go in deep snow and have only gotten stuck once where I had to use recovery boards. I got stuck on a slope and the back end kept sliding down into trees 🤣

I'd have to say that tires are going to make a bigger difference than any torque vectoring feature. This is not a metric I'd use to make a purchasing decision.

The AWD is fundamentally a rear-wheel drive vehicle. The Beast is fundamentally a front-wheel drive vehicle.

In an ICE vehicle you'd typically expect more native traction out of a front-wheel drive vehicle because of the weight bias due to the engine. That's not a thing with the Cybertruck because of its relatively flat weight distribution. But there are still some very nuanced oversteer/understeer driving dynamics differences between the two trims.

Probably most important in a difficult snow environment would be the front and rear mechanical diff lockers on the AWD; versus the single front mechanical diff locker on the Beast (augmented by torque vectoring). Any serious off-road enthusiast is going to tell you to go with mechanical lockers because of their relative simplicity and lack of latency.

That all said, very few people are going to be able to discern any meaningful difference in snow handling between the AWD and Beast. I'd make my choice on other merits.

I traded my FS awd for an FS Beast and don't regret it. Interior is moderately nicer comfort was about the same but the smiles per mile of the extra speed is beyond compare. The Awd is no slouch and I would have been wise to keep it for the extra range but no ragrets.

To answer your question, I couldnt tell the difference in snow, both are surefooted and vector energy very well. We had 10 inches in St Louis this year, I went wherever I chose. Last year with the Awd we didn't get as much but never had an issue, and my home and office driveways are pretty steep.

Going with the beast! I'll have some time to figure out a dedicated set of snow wheels & tires at least!
