Hydrochloric (muriatic) acid is available in big hardware stores by the gallon, about $10 (not sure the strength, but it will etch concrete). Also as 14.5% HCL powder for swimming pool pH adjustment. And that's one of the most damaging acids with respect to stainless steel. We have a large number of CCW owners in my area so vandalism is not common. Good solution is to protect your property and defend yourselves against others.
Do you really encounter acid attacks?
Who has the time and money to shop for, purchase acid, and plan random vandalism on other people's property?
That sounds like an expensive and time consuming hobby...
Vandalizing a car is usually a felony...but so is armed robbery, doesn't seem to scare off enough.
