From now on when someone starts a thread about wanting a midgate, I’m going to start another thread about wanting radar. And I know nobody wants that?
I think a thread on using radar to prevent vault cover from opening or closing while the mid gate is open is in order…

Oh, wow! Well, I guess more like a roll-top.

I figure if the tonneau is closed, I don't care if the midgate is closed, too, you know?

I’d kind of figured the whole point was to use the vault cover as the tent topper and access the combined area from the cab. So that would make it kind of worthless for me.

Why? If the midgate is always open when the tonneau is closed, and can only be closed when the tonneau is open...

The only combos I care about is (tonneau closed, midgate open), (tonneau open, midgate open). If there's no (tonneau closed, midgate closed) I'd be fine,, though a (tonneau open, midgate closed) would be perfect third option.

Ah… I somehow read nearly the opposite of what you suggested.

That would make the interior pretty loud since soundproofing and sealing the rolling cover would be tough.

Also, I can think of a lot of loads I’d want covered but not open to the cabin. Dump runs being a big one. Damned near any loose/ stinky sort of load.

I do dump runs in my hatchback, so it's no skin off my teeth. And the noise of a closed tonneau would vibrate through the body, so I'm just not sold on the need to close off the midgate.

That said, it would be a nifty feature. But I would rather have the opening first, any closure is secondary.

Top ten best office trick

1.) Get ahold of your targets computer before they log off.
2.) Go into MS Word Settings. Add "him or her" to auto correct. Replace with 'my boss Dave is a total A hole' or similar.
3.) Exit settings.
4.) Wait....and hope your office mate actually proof reads their correspondence.
