No need to be engineer to point the obvious and unfortunately this.... is....not..... looking.... good.
I draw the opposite conclusion. The superficial "skin" was peeled off, but the door innards and main structure are intact. Goal should be to protect the occupants, and if this did go on its side, it did its job!

The safe way to protect the occupants is to release all the inertia of the vehicle. the panels did not just fall off, they absorbed a lot of energy in the process. Look and the air bags ... I wish we had pics of the inside. Probably like a cocoon in there. Like an F1 car, it can be unrecognizable outside and still safe inside. Amazing.

Additionally ... it is right side up. Not a common result in truck crashes and ICE vehicles. No fire and it looks like they got out and waited for help. 911 auto dial you know.

Totaled and now ... get back in line!

I with you on this...the CT gave its life so that the occupants would live.

Look at them standing (!) around after the rollover. Dazed but ok. And, it must've been a violent rollover to do that much damage to the CT. But again, the occupants are up and walking around.

That's a good point, but still feeling that it should hold better

If the Grand Canyon is a ditch, maybe. The missing rear wheel and right side suggests the “ditch” may have included a guard rail or ‘Jersey barrier’ to preclude vehicles from entering the ditch. I don’t mean to down play the horrific ride that accompanied this misfortune but ending up in a ditch does not warrant this damage without some other influence. Thanks for sharing the photos, they certainly reveal a side to the cybertruck we have not seen.

My thoughts exactly. This was not just a "ditch." This was something hard + too much speed + someone's first truck + (and I'll go out on a limb here) youth.

Wonder if they sideswiped an 18 wheeler or box truck.
