Cybertruck Deliveries Suspended Temporarily -- due to windshield wiper motor issue

So, I have been timid about using the wiper and have not since the delivery two weeks ago. How do you know if the wiper motor is bad and will be recalled or not?

A friend told me yesterday that there is an issue with the tonneau cover switch getting wet and malfunctioning. Of course, he doesn’t know anything, so I am wondering if what he heard was really about the wiper motor or is something else. Has anyone heard anything about the tonneau switch? Mine seems fine.

This has been a thing, yes. People were having the tonneau open by itself after rain or a car wash. I only remember half a dozen people posting about it here, and none recently.

I have 2k miles on my AWD VIN 82XX. Have used the wipers several times with no issues yet.

I have a delivery appointment for Monday at 5pm, VIN starting with 16.

Keep us updated if you take delivery. I'm waiting to schedule with a 157xx VIN and I'd like to know if I'm impacted (Tesla text isn't helpful). I haven't received any message saying I am but you know Tesla.

Was supposed to pick mine up on Sunday and I was told it’s late next week now. Was gonna bring a cashiers check but ended up using Plaid instead.

Anyone know how quickly the payment goes through? Or is it deducted on the day of delivery?

Same here… the Miami Gardens location? I’m scheduled for Thursday. I used the Plaid, nothing has come out yet.

I have had my CT for just over a month and have used the wiper a few times in the mist - and after a car wash to swipe the water off the windshield.

Yesterday, was the first time I put the Truck into Car Wash Mode - when taking it to a car wash. Didnt want to have the charge port open when I was washing the car.

Finished washing the car - and the wiper was dead.
Wont move
when I hold down the button - it will eject wiper fluid - but no movement.

Wonder if that was just coincidence - or if either putting it in car wash mode (which turns off Auto wipe setting - i believe) bricked the wiper somehow.

July 1 - is the first appt avail.

LMK if anyone has any other suggestions (already did the 2 wheel reset) - no change.

Be wary of anything from Inside EV and Tesla. Very few positive write-ups and LOADS of negative on all things Tesla .. lots of inflating how good some EVs are and knocking how bad Tesla is. I started at that site on my EV journey, and then realized they are very much like lots of media.. very agenda driven once you start looking into facts.

Not to say it doesn’t have some good content, but be leery

My VIN is 166xx. Plan it to pick up this week. Messaged the advisor today and they said there would not be any delay unless there is actual issue with the wiper blade when tested during the pre-delivery checklist. So it seems like this delay is only for some and not all.

I could be wrong and someone might correct me… and it’s not all horrible content. All I ask for my media is balanced and fair. I found that site to be more for clicks.. which sucks because I think it has potential
