I reached out to them and received an auto response. All the more reason to take advantage of that Austin CT tour if anyone gets the chance.

I’ve actually toured some of their facilities before. It’s really not the point. They’re now creating an “experience” for the purchase that I would’ve enjoyed having. The moment has passed, even if they were to offer it as an afterthought. I doubt they’ll even do that.

It’s the thoughtlessness I’m commenting on. Chevy has been doing this for decades on Corvettes. It’s not hard there are plenty of models for them to follow Porsche, etc.

It’s just amateurish in my opinion. I’m damn sure gonna call it out if I want without a single ounce of guff!

Remember this was the talk of the town two years ago here, glad they are finally offering it to future purchases. Marketing is the plan.

I was just in the factory last Wednesday on a friends and family tour. They said that at that time, public tours weren't a thing. A buddy of mine who is on a 1 year military work partnership program in the casting dept had to schedule it for me from the inside, and Tesla corporate sent me an email 24 hours out with an NDA and a few other things to digitally sign, and I had to upload a photo. when we got to the visitors trailer (a construction office looking trailer in a dirt lot on the east side of the factory), they had credentials and lanyards ready to go for us, and we had to show ID for them. A bus then took us through the security point to the front of the factory.

All this to say, I'm not sure anyone is just showing up and getting a tour, but who knows if this delivery experience will be a new process. It was absolutely worth the 12 hour drive from where I live. Both the CT and MY lines were full steam ahead while we were in there, and phones/pictures were not allowed except inside the entrance lobby following the tour.
