Before all the C-vid delays and associated cr*p, I had a daydream of picking up my Tri-Motor (at original pricing) at the factory, being in Austin for the Solar Eclipse and then roadtripping it back. Somewhere in an alternate timeline, it worked out.

I’ve actually toured some of their facilities before. It’s really not the point. They’re now creating an “experience” for the purchase that I would’ve enjoyed having. The moment has passed, even if they were to offer it as an afterthought. I doubt they’ll even do that.
Let's not forget in our haste that early Cybertruck deliveries were made to feel special. Remember all the videos of smoke machines, light shows, clapping Tesla staffs, etc.?

I picked up my truck in June 2024 - behind a velvet roped off area in front of the store to keep back the riff raff (I kid). That WAS a special delivery experience and my service advisor took nearly an hour to go through the truck and would have taken as much time as I wanted despite it being my third Tesla.

Maybe that wasn't part of the delivery experience in Q4 2024 or Q1 2025 but eventually it was going to be just another vehicle delivery, we're not buying hyper exotics here.

I would have appreciated the offer of a factory tour, sure. But I've also been invited to any number of Defender events in the last few years and have gone to none of them. Prices paid for the two vehicles was almost exactly the same, within a few grand.

What I would prefer is the option to redeem my soon-to-expire $2,500 Powershare one time use voucher for something useful - lifetime supercharging, factory tour, meeting at the White House, whatever.

I picked up my juniper at giga Texas for the delivery event they held. It was pretty cool. My issue was that I didn’t really have time to do all the tours and such. But they had all sort of interesting things around the lobby and outside. I drove out there to pick up my juniper then still had a 2 hour drive home so I didn’t stick out long…

The delivery fee for an F-150 is $1,995. It is not negotiable and is part of the final purchase price regardless of where you take delivery.

How is the Cybertruck delivery fee any different from the best-selling truck in America?

This!!!! My CB, was the worst new car picking-up experience I think I’ve ever had second only to the experience we had getting my wife’s MX/LR [which included a 3hr wait]! Not for nothing, just the 2 most expensive and most recent purchases that we’ve made from Tesla. They’re moving backwards!

Probably the best overall experience was December 2020 with my ‘21 M3P performance during Covid, because they came to my house picked up my trade and dropped off the M3P in my garage!

you got lucky on that one too! I got a plaid in 2021 with missing accessories and no one even told me until I saw on the forums. but As they say, I love the car! I’ll end up on “cyberstuck” Reddit for that comment ?

My experience was being told everything was through the app, then having someone tell me they didn't do the right paperwork. Once that was fixed, I was told my "truck was outside, it has your name on a card"... then i left.

My unrealistic expectations: fog machine, strobes, and everyone stopping their work to cheer me on as I got into my truck I waited damn near 5 years for lol.

Well, was it worth it?

Not the 15-minute delivery experience, the truck.
