Hey CyberTruck community,

Looking for some guidance or similar experiences from fellow owners. Had a pretty frustrating situation during our family spring break vacation.

## What Happened:
- Location: Panama City Beach, FL
- Truck firmware: v12 (2024.45.32.20 8521c46e7d72)
- Battery: Had just charged to 80% at the PCB Supercharger
- Issue: Complete system shutdown at 4:30pm on our last vacation day
- Error message: "Electrical system is unable to support all features/Switching off features to conserve energy"
Mileage - 18,019

The truck was completely non-responsive - couldn't access through the app or even use the key card. This happened right when we were planning to head back to Nashville the next morning.

## The Aftermath:
- Had to get the truck towed to Tallahassee, FL - service was closed due to time and the weekend…
- Now back in Nashville while my truck sits in Tallahassee
- Waiting to hear from Tallahassee service center (hopefully tomorrow)
- Hoping my local Nashville Tesla service will provide a loaner

Has anyone experienced a similar total shutdown while traveling out of state? Any insights on what might have caused this? The timing couldn't have been worse - roughly happened @ 77% charged and ready for our trip home the next day, then suddenly completely dead.

Any advice on dealing with service centers when your vehicle is stranded in another state? Or technical insights about what might be happening with the electrical system?

Thanks in advance for any help or shared experiences. Fortunately, we are all safe.

Sounds similar to the incident the Out of Spec reviews Cybertruck had yesterday. Check out their YouTube channel.

The quick version is both pyro fuses blew on the HV system after one of the power units on the rear drive unit shorted. (As I recall, others please feel free to correct me.)

If I'm not mistaken, their truck did not completely brick like OP's. Sounds eerily like an inverter issue. Just my 0.02.

This is getting more rare but it's actually a known issue. It was occurring more often in the early VINs and did happen to me, also away from home(5 hours). The problem is most likely a fault in the High Voltage Loop. When it detects a fault it will shut down to prevent fire. The fix is normally to find the fault which in most cases is a loose connection point and can be easily repaired. I hope you get resolution quickly.

I will add that when traveling Tesla will tend to move you to the front of the line. I have had two incidents while traveling. the one I mentioned, they gave me a loaner and sent me home. (it was 5 hours away) The other was a blown tire, the SC was amazing! The fixed me up with a temp wheel and I bought a tire and told me to just ship the wheel back to them. Once I got the new one back home! I hope you have a similar experience.

Happened to mine. Search the forum for "bricked". Truck was brought from VT to NY for service. It was returned many days later, threw a bunch of faults and towed back from VT to NY. And then they towed it to me in NJ where I live. Issue was "Rear drive unit"

I wish Tesla could figure everything out before release, but that’s not how their story has gone so far.

They’ll make it right, I can assure you of that, but it’s definitely a major inconvenience in the here and now.

I probably should have waited longer to buy, but just couldn’t wait anymore (I waited through all of foundation series - as soon as non-foundations came out, I ordered). I’ll take the little bit of bad with the whole lotta good.

Best of luck to you.

You don't hear of these electrical issues with other Tesla models.

I'm a couple miles from that SuC. Service is either 2 hours to the west (Pensacola), or 2 hours to the east (Tallahassee). What was the towing charge? Did Tesla cover it? This is the biggest hurdle to mass adoption.

Yes, Tesla covered the tow with roadside. I was able to get them to transport it back to the Franklin, TN service center. But I had to coordinate with my local service center team to get that done. Tesla covered the transport. They also paid a portion of my rental cost.

Description Of Work Amount (USD)

Concern: Customer states: Alerts - Drivability - Electrical system is unable to support all features/Switching off features to conserve energy

Repair Notes: Found connector number X050 broken. Replace backbone harness test drive and all vitals good.

Correction: Diagnosis: Low Voltage Circuit Integrity Check

1 Correction: Bed and Backbone Harnesses - Harness - MV Backbone - Remove and Replace
