I’ve been incredibly patient thus far, but if September comes and goes without FSD, I’m going to speak to an attorney and see what my options are. Most of the value of Founders Edition was in the FSD capabilities. So, I figure if the usable life of my truck is 10 years with FSD valued at $12k, we’re all down $100/month every month FSD slips. We shouldn’t tolerate this.
Good luck with that.

It’s hard to find a good lawyer these days… In between the four corners of my agreement it states “You agree to purchase the vehicle (the “Vehicle”) described in your Vehicle Configuration from Tesla, Inc.” and in the Vehicle Configuration addendum it states “Full Self-Driving Capability”. I’d argue without the software, I do not have these capability. Now, I remember Tesla had me accept a separate web term related to FSD, post order, obviously because they were worried about exposing themselves to unnecessary liabilities. I might not have a great case, but I’d still like to pressure them to do right by their customers.
You have NO case, but if you have time and money to burn do what seems right to you. Your lawyer will be laughed out of court and will hopefully have their reputation damaged enough that they take fewer and fewer frivolous cases going forward.

NO do not be a tease xD I'm enjoying this lawyer quibble ?

Im not a lawyer, but I'm pretty dang sure if someone was capable of suing Tesla over fsd delays and various issues, someone would have by now. Think about Gen 1 people who were promised fsd back in the beginning... ?

Save your money, at $100 a month, you're at like what... $1000 at best?

This makes sense to me. Whatever they wanna talk about on 10/10 regarding robo-taxis and Optimus would be completely undercut if they weren’t able to release FSD on Cybertruck on before (or on) that date.

Elon would lose all credibility and be lambasted more than usual if he’s standing up there talking about this glorious future and he hadn’t still delivered on the promise of FSD for these trucks.

He likes to be seen as cool and the one more thing casually dropped would be cool.

Also, it would be the only thing that would justify the “Airplane” tweet. Sure, they’re generally under pressure to get things out but this is the only dropdead date that’s coming up in their near future and you can easily envision the pressure they’re under to absolutely deliver by 10/10 without fail.

So, I hope you’re right and have some inside knowledge, but even without that, it only makes sense.

The 10/10 event is a platform reveal as Elon said earlier. They are revealing the new RT car and then doing a demo with it. It's not an event that is releasing a RT product, it's like the CT event unveiling the CT.

Of course, Optimus will be there, too.

I think they want FSD on the CT by then but Tesla considers a release out when influencers have it, not when the general public does. They've always treated things like this, like when Elon said in December 2023 that "FSD is now available for all cars that request it", when there was a release that could go to all cars, but it took almost a month afterwards to go to all vehicles. Same with the FSD trial, it took a few months to make it to the fleet.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I just think that 10/10 is definitely a make or break date by which he has to be able to say that FSD has been released on Cybertruck. I agree with you that rollout is a completely different matter.

We know that the CT won't get FSD until the highway stack is complete and that hasn't rolled out to any Tesla, yet. The assumption is that they are still struggling with speed control in V12.

That is a truly funny comment. What are there, 40,000 Cybertruck’s out there w/o FSD? Meanwhile, there are millions of Teslas out and about with FSD. It is hard to imagine anyone giving a hoot whether we get it by 10/10.

Well, I’m an attorney. I’m not going to provide you legal advice over the interwebs, but, I’ll tell you what I’m going to do:

I’m going to be “Actually” Incredibly Patient (AIP™️). I’m going to remember that I bought this car full well knowing that it wasn’t coming with FSD and several accessories that were part of my purchase price and that I both acknowledged and consented to that state of being at the time that I sent Tesla money.

I’ll just go ahead and remember that no date of delivery was promised to me for these accessories and FSD and then just wait patiently until Tesla hands me my FSD and ASS after they deem it’s ready to be distributed to the public rather than wasting a whole bunch of time, energy and money only to have my ASS handed to me in court.

Because, I’ll know that when Tesla is doing the calculus as to whether they’re going to rush a product out so that someone who was given no firm date of delivery at the time of their purchase is investigating whether they should file a pointless lawsuit vs. rushing out potentially dangerous software which will do both financial and reputational harm, that they’re going to ignore the former and focus on the latter 100% of the time.

I’ll recall that I haven’t lost a single dollar because of this “delay,” since, I got exactly what I bargained for which was: (1) a car today and (2) some other shit at a unspecified later date.

I’ll remember that no matter how earnest or wildly inaccurate any promises or statements Elon made outside of the four corners of my signed agreement are, that those promises aren’t worth the electrons they’re printed on since they don’t modify my contract. ??‍♂

But again, that’s just what I’m going to do. You should do what feels right to you.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is what a pushover looks like.
Avoid this attorney at all costs unless you too want to become a ?.

????

You betcha pussycat!

[You’ve had no less than two litigators tell you exactly what’s gonna happen with this idiocy. You can take exactly what I said to the best lawyer you know IRL (lol) and report back their response. Because, again suffering from delusions of adequacy to rate my legal analysis/acumen does not create a credible opinion.]

“Elon Musk (former worlds richest man and Internet troll) announces “Robotaxis” that are supposed to drive themselves (when they’re not spontaneously combusting), meanwhile cybertruck still doesn’t have FSD released after continual delays!” - Automotive Expert Magazine

You have a hard time imagining that or something very similar to it splattered all over the Internet on 10/11?

OK. Talk about funny. ?

We shall not have very long to wait to find out who’s instincts are better tuned.

No Tesla car can actually drive by itself. I don't think that will hinder 10/10. It's an announcement/unveil, not a launch.
