I went on a 200 mile round trip to the doctor's office with my brother this morning. A while after getting home from an almost perfect ride we decided to leave my house again to go grab a bit to eat at a nearby restaurant. On the way home we arrived at a small county road intersection with a Farm to Market road, (speed limit 70mph), and the car tuned left to take head to my house. The problem is that when it turned left it did not cross over to the right lane to get me home but it turned into the oncoming traffic lane! After building up a high level of confidence with my CT it brought me back down to Earth by making this strange error. You still have to maintain a high level of vigilance when driving in Supervised mode, no matter how far along we have come. Luckily the car approaching us in the oncoming traffic lane was a few hundred yards away and I never felt like we were ever in danger. Of course I intervened and left a message that the truck made a left turn into an oncoming traffic lane. I can't hardly wait for the updates that bring us to unsupervised full self driving. It was another great day driving the truck with a significant disappointment.
