Seriously, how do you get a quote without a vin#?
you call up your insurance carrier and ask “what would it cost if….” .

think I’ll try Wawanesa again now that deliveries are happening. It must be rated?

also interested in Tesla rates but those do need an actual vehicle at least in the app.

We're with Liberty (business), and they keep asking for a VIN

I tried to get a quote from Geico on their website.. but a lot of the questions they ask will skew the rates (like, where you live, how old you are, etc etc).. but just as a point of reference (fwiw).. I wasnt able to select "Tesla Cybertruck".. only "Tesla" and "Other" for model. It did also ask what the price of the car was when new and since I wanted to see what craziness would come from a Cyberbeast quote, I selected $120,000

Insurance coverage info:

no accidents, no claims
no multi-policy or multi-car discount
Southern California

100k/300k bodily injury
100k for property liability
50k/100k uninsured motorist
3000 for medical payments
250 for comprehensive deductible
1000 for collision deductible

$3966 for 1 year

For comparison, I currently pay $1380 for pretty much the same coverage with Wawanesa on my 2018 Model 3 (multi-car discount included). I will say that I had tried to get a quote from Geico a few years ago and to say Geico was not competitive would be an understatement.

if anyone needs a VIN to have an insurance agent create a quote.. the VIN tracker thread is a good place to find a whole lot of VINs:

Thanks. Actually it's the comparison that's more informative (what you are paying now vs the CT). Our 2018 M3 is $1140/year with Wawanesa. IIRC, Tesla was a little cheaper so we'll be switching first of the year (you get 50% off parts if you do that).

So, your estimate is $333/month, and maybe a little higher than what we pay, that means that for a CT dual motor ~$79K, it should be within my tolerance for monthly costs.

100k will get you through an emergency room in a bad accident.

50k if Hit by an uninsured driver is not a good idea.
