How much will you be able to personalize your CT? Will it talk/interact with you like Apple's Siri? Choose a male/female/robotic voice for your CT?

This brings a whole new concept of "that's my truck". Theft could be thwarted by the CT not recognizing the driver.

So many possibilities............

One of my personal thoughts about Tesla's approach to cars is.

Ford sees their cars as being automobiles... horseless carriages.

Tesla sees their cars as transportation robots.

The latter isn't quite 100% there yet, but it is how they are evolving things.

The level of automation is one of the things which blew me away about my Tesla.

I hope Tesla eventually adds the same functionality that Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri have. It would probably be easy for Tesla to just feed your question/command through the Bluetooth connection to your smartphone as of it were a headset. And feed the response through the speakers. The hard part could be trying to separate out commands that are meant for the car from those meant for the smartphone assistant.

Talking with the owner makes a lot of sense since you can keep your eyes on the road and it requires less engagement with buttons. I certainly expect CT to be quite enough for it. And theoretically CT know what music or podcast it is playing so it should be able to subtract it from the sound in the cabin and still understand you when you give it a command but I probably won’t leave that on all the time. I just don’t like a processor processing that much information actively all the time just so it can listen in the off chance that I may say something. And I wouldn’t want CT accidentally drive me off the cliff because it misunderstood me when I saw a nice sunset and told my wife ”to your right”

I think at this point it is more like CT and it’s driver (collectively) are a Cyborg. But it is certainly going in a Robot direction.

As far as theft goes, hopefully tying CT too tightly to the owner with biometrics won’t have the side effect of turning thieves to kidnappers and owners loosing thumbs and eyeballs ( I know, I watch too many movies).

Speaking of robots.......

Not many comments about the Tesla robot Elon plans for next year.

Some think that it was Grimes in the robot suit that was dancing.

Me: "I'd like to go get some groceries at the store."
My CT: "I am afraid I can't do that Dave."
Me: "Who are you talking to? My name is not Dave."
My CT: "Shall we play a game?"
Me: "Anything except Global Thermonuclear War."
My CT: "OK, Global Thermonuclear War it is."

You're CT as therapist:

Storming out the door and getting into my CT and turn on some music while bi#*@ing about my wife........

CT: What's the matter, Dave?
Me: The wife and I are not getting along.
CT: Tell me all about it, Dave.......

owners loosing thumbs and eyeballs
Despite that being a seemingly common movie trope, that is a complete disqualification when testing biometric security systems. "Will not work with severed thumbs", or anything like it, will have to be a selling point, just to discourage crooks who might think of it.

We will have to make sure we are car jacked by certified criminals that are educated on advanced biometric devices so they know not to cut off our organs.
