Do leases include FSD or would they have to subscribe to it monthly or pay a higher lease rate?
Leases do not include any FSD or optional accessories like different color/wheels. If Tesla operates like most other automakers those things would only be charged depreciation on the lease.... so in the case of FSD it's probably cheaper to just subscribe to it for the lease term (and that might be the only option) since Tesla has no option to buy out the vehicle at lease end.

The Cybertruck demand lever has been pulled after just 11 months of production. I knew something was coming down the pike soon to increase demand.

Remember, leasing = renting. You are basically paying for vehicle depreciation every month plus a money factor (interest). You walk away at the end of a lease and own nothing.

Bargain shoppers will be able to pickup a used 2024 lease return in late 2027 for roughly $50k. Those in the Skippers Club rejoice!

Lease details:
-Vehicle must be returned to Tesla at end of lease (no option to purchase)
-10k miles per year, 25 cents a mile for every excess mile driven
-Taxes and fees not included

$.25 per mile over 10,000 per year.. This is the same as my M3 lease. Not too bad if you consider the vehicle is almost double the upfront cost.

Looks like lease acquisition fee is $679 and lease disposal fee is $350. That's actually not bad on an $80K car.

Interesting, too.

Certainly if you plan on replacing it before the end, since you wouldn't get the divisor of miles of someone who only buys a vehicle ones every ten years.

Does lock in the date you have to replace it, tho.

I've never leased a Tesla so I don't know how their financier handles it but it's not atypical for the leasing bank to offer a very short extension of the lease at the same lease payment as long as you have not gone over on miles.

In the case of BMW they will actually extend your lease by up to six months if you have another BMW on order.

I've heard both stories, so clearly it had depended on whether Tesla thinks they can resell it quickly or not.

What has been your leasing experience with Tesla? Which bank handles the lease financing? How strict have they been for minor damage at lease turn in?

Thanks.

With $0 down do you still pay the taxes and fees at signing, or roll into the monthly payment? Also intrigued at hearing about your leasing experiences.

You are paying 45% of the cost of the truck to drive it for three years. You are protected against future versions of the product or future price cuts reducing that resale value. I bought my Model Y two years ago and Tesla immediately and drastically reduced resale price and tanked the used value of my expensive car.

If the truck has a lot of QC issues then you are also protected against that as you can just walk away at the end.

55% resale value on a product like the CT, including all financing is actually quite good.

Likely this will be followed by a cash/finance purchase discount price sometime around the holidays to further boost sales.
Yes … adding a middleman who needs to be paid reduces cost ?. Just think it through man. No one can operate a business and take a loss .. they make money on you. Your example is an exception.. ot the rule. If you feel better about paying more to reduce the risk of a potential loss .. go ahead and lease.

I’m confident Cybertruck incentives/discounts are coming in 2025. Leasing was just the first pull of the demand lever.
I’m hoping they add more batteries.. 400 miles is my minimum to pull the trigger .. especially at these prices!

I’m in PA so I pay the taxes up front. I owe $2647.
Leasing has been great. I do take care of my cars and they are garage kept. Normal wear and tear is accepted no problem. Just turned in my wife’s Y and they are notorious for sandblasting the rear doors. No mention of it at return. She was over mileage so we just paid that fee and left with the new Y.

You are ignoring the $7,500 pass through tax credit as well as Tesla’s long history of slashing MSRP sometimes by 20% or more that destroys resale value.

I wish I leased my last few Tesla’s. I lost $50K on the price changes. I’m not blaming them, I bought the cars for what I thought was a fair value, but it’s still brutal to know 6 months later I would’ve saved $50K. Actually I would’ve ended up buying a Plaid S and an X instead of the LR and MYP we bought. Is what it is At this point.
