Cybertruck on FSD 12.5.5 Drives Us 99% of the Time on 1,126 miles (1,812km) Road Trip

I would love to see the cost of supercharging, efficiency numbers etc some geek stuff if you can please. It’s been a life long dream for me to make such a trip, but who has the time lol

Sure, I posted some numbers here -



Specifically the 4th picture -

- For the 1,1126 miles trip we used 528 kWh or 469 Wh/mile
- Our total at that point was 6,720 miles using up 2,824 kWh or 420 Wh/mile. 420 ?

Our Model Y is getting around 275 Wh/mile. We got free charging at a hotel and our Airbnb, Supercharging varied but it was mostly around 40 cents per kWh.

We like to use https://www.tesla.com/findus and filter for "Destination Charging" only, so we can find hotels with chargers, which often are free.

Not just scary, dangerous.

I don't know if I already caused a heart attack on 2 occasions where my CT was about going into head-on collision turning in ultra sharp left that it was into the opposing lane.

I have not experienced this - FSD has worked extremely well for us in California and Oregon, with no safety disengagements or interventions. I have over 30 videos now on https://www.youtube.com/@ehuna to prove it.

My biggest issue with FSD currently is the speed issue. It will happily drive along the highway at the posted 65 mph, and when I get to a small "town" with a 45 mph speed limit it will VERY quickly (too quickly) slow down to the posted 45 mph. But then when the speed increases back to 65, it may take 5+ miles to get back up to 65 mph. I know it sees the 65 mph speed limit sign because the displayed limit changes back to 65 from 45. I don't understand how accelerating to the posted speed limit can possibly be overlooked by the FSD team.

EDIT: Actually, I don't know if it would ever return to the posted 65 mph speed limit, I've always been too impatient to wait. I've given it 5 miles a couple of times, and it never gets there. It does very gradually, over several miles, increase speed from to 52-62 mph though, so I'm assuming it would eventually get to 65, but who knows.

Yes, our Cybertruck FSD on 12.5.5 is sometimes a bit slow - what I found is that if I press the accelerator to bring it to the speed I want, it then keeps it at that speed.

On our Model Y we have FSD 12.5.6.1 and the new "Hurry" speed profile works a lot better, I made a video about it here -

Didn’t look like you had to drive 11.26 miles out of the 1126 mile trip. Glad it is working so well for you! I find I arrive at destinations much less stressed with my FSD and actually see more on tre trips!

Yes, exactly! We stopped half way in Redding, CA - and I hit the hotel gym after a 6 hour trip. In the past, without FSD, I was too exhausted to do anything.

Seen this many times. I went through an area alternating frequently between 65, 45, and 35. The average speed ended up being about 37 MPH because once it saw that 35 it just couldn't be bothered to get back up to speed. Aggravating.

Very nice. I currently have 3 urgent concerns with FSD. One, it will curb my left rear tire on just about every left turn where there is a dividing island, especially if there are more than one left turn lane and FSD will always take lane one and when there is another car turning next to my Cyberbeast, it's 100% that FSD will steer too close to the left and curb the left rear tire, thank goodness for the 35in AT tire ?
Second concern, again is while making a left turn, and if there is no center dividing island and I'm turning, FSD will sometimes turn into the opposite traffic lane one instead of my side of lane one, scary. Lastly, if I'm turning left from lane 2, FSD will go into lane 1 immediately after the turn, forcing cars on lane 1 to make evasive maneuver, also scary.

These are the exact issues I have. It makes you look totally incompetent having to yank the steering wheel away from the car you are about to turn into. The other car's driver looks at you like you are the worst driver ever (kind of are at that point).

FSD doesn't always slow down after passing a reduce speed zone. To get around this issue, I disengage FSD and re-engage FSD after it slows down to the correct speed.

We just completed a 2,600 mile roadtrip from our home in New Port Richey, FL to Dallas, TX with lots of stops in between. I would love to have taken some video, but I haven’t gotten that far yet.? I did make copious notes of all our charging stops so folks can see our mileage, Supercharger costs, etc. I’ll post it once I’ve finished cleaning up all my data. I estimated that our Cybertruck drove 98% of the way without me having to touch the accelerator, brake or steering yoke. Even having had our Model X for 6 years, this was like friggin’ magic!!?

And I got two broken and detached right and left front mud flaps to prove it.

Not a few here also reported their CTs hitting the curb or jumping on concrete island, as mine, with that sharp left turns. Sharp right is no longer an issue except that it sometimes stops completely before proceeding even if it's all clear of other vehicles on all corners.

Those are all moments where you’re supposed to take over, hence the “supervised” name.

in making excuses for the FSD, can we at least set the lowest bar and standards as being able to pass the DMV driving test for new drivers?

Very nice. I currently have 3 urgent concerns with FSD.
