So I had a serious conversation with a friend about the price of my CT. He started off with the usual “ That’s alot of money for a truck”. And that’s where the conversation turned into me having to not defend myself but to enlighten him on other trucks on the market. Ranging from 100k+ GMC Sierra Denali Ultimates to Ford F250 Platinums. And top of the line Rams. Yes I could have spent my money on one those trucks, but why? Did I want a truck that is basically a leatherized version of a work truck? Did I want a diesel truck that is so restricted nowadays with all the emissions systems and thinking 12-14 miles per gallon is acceptable? Well…. No…… I wanted something unique, fun to drive and lastly, just downright AWESOME! I have no problem with someone buying any one of those trucks, and I do appreciate a lifted diesel truck, but don’t act as if they aren’t priced comparably and most of the time higher in my trim level choice. My CT would have been 20,000.00 cheaper if I waited for a Non Foundation Series, putting it well below the MSRP of any of these trucks. I am not a converted electric car guy and I use a 2001 Ram 3500 Diesel for the practically and sheer torque that the Cummins has. It also is emission free and averages 23-27 miles per gallon. There is a vehicle for every application and as of right now electric doesn’t work for towing long distances without several stops for recharging. Would I rethink my CT purchase? Definitely not. I’m extremely happy with it and it checked all the boxes for what I was using it for. So the next time someone tries to imply that the CT is overpriced………
