The Cybertruck is not overpriced. It’s a bargain.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am really fed up with people that get on this site posting the Cybertruck is over priced. Just look at the chart below to get a real price comparison…… and none of them have steer by wire, stainless steel bodies, FSD …. at last but not least the 845 hp and 2.6 sec 0 to 60 of my Beast. In reality I would never even consider buying another vehicle if it didn’t have steer by wire and FSD.

Adjusting for inflation the $49,900 AWD reveal price in 2019 calculates to around $63k in 2026.
Tesla is actually selling the 2026 $59,990 trim for less than was advertised in 2019.
With 30% more range than advertised in 2019. You could argue its a better truck than advertised in 2019, minus the six seater option ;)

If you go build a f150 or tundra with similar options. The new AWD cybertruck is priced right. Both of those I did a build and they are slightly over 60k msrp, but can probably be had for less with bargains so let’s say about 5k. So roughly 56-57k. But CT still has more than those offer less going to much higher trims, and neither have FSD and Tesla warranty is better as well. My build examples were f150 XLT and tundra SR5, speced with similar options as close as I could get with going up to the next trim.

The Cybertruck is not “overpriced” so much as “ too expensive for mass market”.

There are plenty of things that are a great value for the money, but still far too expensive for most people.

Placed my order yesterday for the $60k AWD. Sep-Oct delivery estimate.

The way I look at it is, the features of the $60k AWD (i.e cloth seats, 7 spk stereo, no rear screen, coil suspension, etc.) is similar content to my 2017 F150 SCrew 4x4 FX4, which is all the truck I need.

Pricing an identical new F150 to my 2017 is now $64k. I wouldn't have spent $80k on the CT AWD premium but $60k it is a no brainer since I'm already a Tesla owner and the CT is a much better vehcile than an F150. To me, the best thing about the CT is with stainless steel, I won't worry about the paint flaking or washing off (not joking) like my Ford.

Long time listener, first time caller! Just ordered the Premium AWD yesterday. Coming from a 2015 F150 that has served me well over the years. Quick question: What to do about window tinting? When ordering, it asked me if I wanted any window tint. I skipped it. Am I better setting this up on the order page with Tesla or just going direct to a vendor? I live in Florida and am curious what you all have done as far as the tint is concerned. Thanks and pretty excited!
Didn't realize Tesla offered tint along with wraps. Since you live in Florida I would say you probably have many more qualified installers than we have in Virginia. I'd go with a speacialist rather than having Tesla farm it out, that way you may have more choice in tint %, type (ceramic, etc.)

Wait till you get it…you definitely say the “Steer By Wire” is the best thing. It completely changes what you quantify currently on how any vehicle “should drive”…ITS GAME CHANGER! You will see…welcome to the CT Family:)

Just got back from a demo of a AWD premium model. One thing's for sure, it doesn't drive like it looks! With the "squircle" steering wheel, steer by wire, and the 4 wheel steering, it drives like a much smaller vehicle. A few other driving observations and thoughts on the base vs premium:

• The large sloping windsheild and long dash didn't take as long to get used to as I thought.
• The on screen rear view mirror was a miss for Tesla. I can work around it but the aftermarket solutions with a larger screen as the rear view mirror and a higher mounted camera is what should have shipped. Most likely I'll add down the road, something like the Tlyard unit.
• The premium sound system is NICE! I thought the sound system in my '24 Model 3 Performance was good. Will I miss it, probably not since I generally listen to podcasts and news but sometimes it is nice to crank it up!
• The under bed storage/vault was smaller than it looked in pictures. Do I wish the base AWD had it? Sure but I'm not losing sleep since my current F150 doesn't have it. Plus I still have the frunk.
• The power and acceleration is similar to my M3P, though on paper I know it's not. For me, it has enough power and while the tri-motor would be cool, there's no ICE truck with this level of acceleration.
• Noise levels on the highway and secondary roads was less than my Model 3, impressed.
• Not quite as much space inside as my F150 but more than enough to keep 4-5 people comfortable.

So after a brief 30 min demo, how do I feel about my order of the $60 AWD? No regrets, other than I wish I had ordered it on day 1....now I have to wait until Sept.

Yeah, not many think it's "overpriced" but it absolutely was "too expensive". Most people can't buy an $80k car.

That’s Life…….there are a lot of vehicles on the market that cost a lot more than $80,000.

what you missed mentioning is something you may not understand until you drive the cyber truck for a while. It is something that’s hard to describe. That is the feeling of being ”safe.“. That feeling coupled with the latest upgraded FSD puts the cyber truck in a class by itself?

When I first drove it off the lot on the demo, while it didn't drive like a "tank", it felt like a "tank". Solid, quiet, almost vault like. Couple that with FSD, I can see where you're coming from. We'll be selling our '23 M3 RWD (wife's) and she'll take my '24 M3P. I'll be transferring FSD from the M3P over to the CT.

It feels like I'm a kid on Chrismas Eve... with 200+ Christmas Eves to go!
