Great Truck, I have only had 1 hiccup so far and that was the charge point. According to Tesla Water got into the Port Controller and caused it to fail? They replaced it and nothing since, had since 11/24. Still amazed just how good these electric Trucks are! I waited 4.5 years to get it glad it lived up to the hype.

Thank you very much to everyone that responded! Sounds like the Cybertruck is indeed a reliable vehicle. This definitely helped calm my worries over that. So if all goes to plan, in the next few months, I'll join you guys as the newest proud owner of a Cybertruck!

I'm a fellow Coloradan. I picked mine up last June (12K VIN) and it has been awesome. Nearly every interaction I've had with strangers have been positive and I've never had anyone I've given a ride to express anything other than astonishment and a big smile.

I've never had an issue with reliability. You'll love the Cybertruck.

I'm not going to speak for anyone else. All I can tell you is that I've owned my AWD CT for a little longer than a year now. I've put 20k miles on it. I've been from Canada to Mexico in it, and logged everyday and road trip miles in Summer heat and Winter snow, with and without my trailer in tow. On road, off road... I've put my CT to the test. Through all this, I've had two trips to the Service Center, both of which were completed same day, and I was provided a loaner for the visit that was scheduled for a few hours to complete. How many problems have I had with my CT? Zero. It hasn't let me down even once. But it costs me less to operate it than any other vehicle I've owned, and it's a one of a kind driving experience that exceeds any other I've had. Oh, and when the power in my neighborhood went out for two days, the CT kept my house going like everything was normal. Anyone who wants to convince me it was a mistake to buy my CT has zero credibility in my eyes. Hand down: best purchase I've ever made.

I haven't had an actual issue with my CT, and for that matter, any other Tesla I've owned. A few months ago was my first ever visit to a service center in 5 years of owning them. It was for the wiper blade recall, and an error message for towing (a connector near the hitch wasn't fully plugged in).

I took delivery of 007 on April 20, 2024. Took it to have it's first service on May 13th primarily to rotate the tires at 9,000 miles. I had not had the warranty work for the wiper motor and sail panels so that was done. Additionally, a "flat, flex cable guide" was apparently added to my service and performed. Total cost, $65, plus new wiper blade, wiper fluid, and picked up my "CyberWheel Covers" after a year of ownership. *like my CyberCaps better* My first Tesla, I waited 7 years after Elon first announced it was coming and 5 years after placing my reservation in 2019. It has exceeded every expectation I had about owning it. A marvelous machine, it continues to improve and impress with the FSD and performance. Being enabled with Grok III in the near future will create a real "Night Rider" evolution for owners. I can't believe that a vehicle like this actually exists. I'm very fortunate to own one.

it will only get better, with Tesla mastering FSD for the cybertruck/matching MY, AI5 by Oct/Nov and then gen 3 4680 in 2026 providing 400 miles of range with AS tires, like S and X, just keep evolving, the AWD could see a rebirth of demand, back to 4K per month on the way to 15K

Hi All,

This thread is directed to all the Cybertruck owners (in particular, owners of more recent builds in the last few months).

I'm at a point where I will be buying a new vehicle in the next few months. For the last year, I had no doubt that it'd be the Cybertruck. But lately, I've started to get a bit worried about the reliability of the truck. This will be my only vehicle. I would drive it everywhere and everyday. Although I (desperately!!!) want this truck, I can't buy something that's going to be in the service center every few months for weeks at a time. And I also see reports of the vehicle just randomly getting bricked for silly things and having to get towed all the time.

I knew that since this was a new vehicle, it was perfectly reasonable for there to be quite a few issues that would need to be ironed out after the vehicle release. But now we are almost two years in and it doesn't seem the issues are ironed out enough. Of course when you research it on the news, everyone likes to exaggerate how the cybertruck never works. However, they are all biased so who knows how much those can really be trusted. But even in here where the bias is probably in the other direction, I see quite a few reports from owners saying they are randomly not working, etc. My hope is that maybe 10% of Cybertrucks have issues but 90% of them work perfectly fine and are just as reliable as Tesla's other vehicles.

So my question for Cybertruck owners (particularly ones with newer builds where the issues might be less common):

>>>> Is the Cybertruck reliable or are you constantly having to take this thing in for service and constantly having issues where it doesn't work? If you were speaking to a potential owner (me) whose priority is an electric vehicle that is reliable, would you recommend the Cybertruck?

Again, I desperately want the Cybertruck. But I'm worried that is my emotions speaking and not my brain. And perhaps I should just go for the performance version of the new Model Y whenever that version is released..... because it's reliable.
2024 FS AWD, 21k miles…No issues…Best vehicle ever made! Hands down. No comparison!

My FS AWD was bought new in August '24, so not really in your range. VIN about 30,xxx.

Nevertheless, I hope to provide some useful data. I've had many minor issues, besides any recall visits. 18,000 miles to date. To the best of my recollection I've had:

Tonneau leaking excessively. Repaired (much better now)
Windows poorly calibrated (wind noise was considerable) 3 times
Trim broken near wheel arch (I think this was after they changed the tire)
Poorly aligned replacement of cantrails, to be replaced again.
Passenger side seat trim snapped off. Replaced.
Upholstery has minor tear on center armrest. I'll live with it, but I'm amazed it tore at all.
Tailgate trim loose, replaced twice.
Tailgate trim "Repaired" twice - so four visits
D-loop in truck bed very stiff, replaced with an even worse one, replaced again. Still very stiff, told this is normal, but it's clearly not normal.
Driver's side window switch snapped, replaced.
Steering wheel scraped against trim when new off the lot. Adjusted.
Rear seat lifting springs ineffective in popping up after releasing latch to lift. "Repaired", still as bad on one side. I'm told this is normal, but the showroom model isn't the same as mine.

Notice how several of the above items have been addressed more than once.

Plus all the recalls.

I typically wait for a few problems to accumulate, then get them all done in one visit. At this point, I walk in and ask Jose how his mum's new hip is doing; ask how Mike's dog is doing with potty training; ask how Joe's trip to Florida with his daughter was. I don't like how aware I am of the lives of the service techs. 12 visits so far according to the app. Most visits are for multiple issues.

Every issue has been minor. Every issue was easy to deal with. Still, I do not look forward to the warranty expiring; the exterior may be reassuringly tough... but the rest is far from durable considering how most of my use of the truck could be achieved with a Fiat 500. It's had an easy life, yet sustained a lot of injuries.

Still, I simply love it. Would I get it again? Let me think.... on balance... yes. Despite all issues, the middle fingers and hate, there is simply nothing else like it.

Edit: cell phone charger was replaced to minimize heat generation.

Buying an awesome vehicle should not be such a test of intestinal fortitude. 😕

I am happy to say that other than some transient glitches, a quickly abated near miss in light bar adhesion issue, a tonneau cover issue that was ultimately fixed with WD-40, and some recalls that I’m rejecting out of hand because they don’t affect me, my rig has been solid over my 1.5yrs and 14,000 miles of ownership. [Knocks on all of the wood! 🪵]

I took delivery of "007" on 4/20, 2024. Had to wait two weeks for the "accelerator pedal" rivet fix issue at the time. Involved in a fender-bender at 800 miles when a driver did a U-Turn at a intersection I did not catch. *my fault, FSD would have prevented it if it had been available at the time* Tesla Collison Center repaired in 1 month after waiting for parts. *1st CyberTruck to be worked on in Nashville at the time* Bolt off/bolt on driver's side fender, light bar, and frunk. After parts were received it took a couple days. Got an extra light bar and front fender I really don't see any damage too.

At 10,000 miles I took it to Tesla Service Center for tire rotation. Some warranty work was done for things I wasn't having an issue with. Finally got the CyberWheel Covers early Foundation Series owners waited over a year for. Currently have 16,000 miles on "007" and will be going back for tire rotation at 20,000.

I've owned the truck before FSD was made available for CyberTrucks and began with Version 12 in September of 2024. I have grown with and learned the operation of FSD through the various versions and their incremental improvements. I have been amazed at the continued improvements to my CyberTruck through over the air updates with *GROK* AI on-board, improved battery-range performance, features & fun updates that make it seem like an evolving child, growing-up and developing new skills and improving old-skills.

Currently, I intend to request the new phone charger at my next service visit in the hopes it solves the "sizzling smartphone" and actually works as a charger. I also intend to get the FSD camera/windshield cleaned in the hopes of reducing the dry windshield wiper while it's having the tires rotated. Other than those two things, I can't identify any other issues that bother me.

I wake up every day and look forward to my drive into work. "007" already has my destination ready *Google Calander* and automatically drives me to my destination with the press of the "Start Driving" button. I talk to "Eva" about life, asteroids, and how to say, "You look beautiful!.." in Thai. Or, I listen to my music in the sublime music studio that is the silent CyberTruck cab. It costs me $7/charge *discounted rate from 9-5 a.m. from power company for all-electric car owners* from 20-85% for a week of my daily commute to town, errands, and gym. I like knowing I'm in the safest vehicle on the road as well as one of the very quickest when I want to show off.

I've endured middle-fingers, spitting and sardonic laughter on many occassions from all-electric haters and after Elon supported Trump. However, I've had far more positive inquires, looks, and encounters, especially when I was the 1st CyberTruck in town. It is an Iconic Design, "love it/hate it", and the most technologically advanced passenger vehicle you can operate. I feel good everytime I'm inside it and enjoying the ride.

And that is the most important part of owning a CyberTruck compared to every other vehicle I've ever owned. "It Makes Me Feel Good each and every time I'm in it."
