Thanks for this tip. Gonna check now!
I had the same problem as everyone else until I stumbled onto the solution. Each side piece with the 2 pads can actually move in and out just a little. So, line up the pads to the holes and pull the end pieces out towards the L track just enough where the pads are touching the holes. When you get both sides touching the holes, then press down on the center lever, which will then push the pads all the way into the holes. Now they are locked in.

Well, I tried several things on this thread. Even removed one of the pads on the feet. Still wouldn’t engage fully and center lever never fully depresses. It’s boxed back up and ready to go back to Tesla. Gonna order another because I’m really hoping it’s just this particular divider that is the problem…because I really want/need this thing.

if a replacement doesn’t work I will just order a third party version. I’m really confused by this…seems like a simple engineering task for Tesla engineers considering all the other insane engineering challenges they solve.

Odd, did you try removing the one on the other side too (I didn't need to, but maybe yours needs it?)

Can you move the lever all the way down when its not in the tracks at all (eg is the lever working right?)

I see you are in NJ -- if you are anywhere close to the Paramus service center, happy to let you try mine to see if it works in your truck before you order a new one.

I cut Into the rubber bumpers at the bottom so it lines up better. The bed floor was updated and the grooves on the bed floor interfere with the proper positioning of the divider. Look at the bottom of the divider and it’s obvious. Cut a bit off the bumper at either end of the bottom of the divider.
Did the same. Used a dremel. Took off maybe 1-2 mm. Looks crappy but disappears when it locks in which it now does easily and securely in any if the spaces.

Just ordered one of these. My ideal positioning would be just behind the sub trunk hatch.

I either received a defective item or this is just poorly designed. I cannot seem to get this thing to align properly, and even when I have it aligned perfectly with the L-Track on both sides the center latch refuses to completely engage and lay flat. I watched some reviews online that indicated that Tesla redesigned this thing a few months back.

Anyone have any luck getting this to work as advertised?
Defective by design. If you slightly bend the dividers locking lugs by forcing it to fit in the bed, it’s easier to put in the second time.
Cybergear.co sells an improved design divider that solves the design flaw of the Tesla model.

I had to adjust my l-track for it to work at all. Took about an hour to get it all sorted but now I can put the divider in basically anywhere I want in about 30 seconds
