They did this with the Model S as well - they had chopped up pre-production models at the showrooms.

I don't think they need to be spotless and perfect. They're training aids, measuring devices, not exemplars.

Well, I just talked to a representative at one of my area delivery centers and they said they won't likely have display units (at least at first) as that would create even more interest in the truck and make the current 5 year wait even longer.
