my eg4 inverter has a nema14-50 for generator (I put the plug on to switch between truck and generator was wired with plug directly to generator before), if battery level gets too low it automatically switches to generator which is plugged into the cybertruck. if truck battery gets low I can plug in the generator. EG4 can auto start generator when battery level gets too low.
That’s interesting. So you can charge your eg4 batteries using the truck?

Only 6% ad valorem but some kind of yearly usage tax as well
Oh weird. 6% isn’t great either but it’s not as bad as a lot of other places. I’m used to 8% where I’ve lived, which is outrageous.

I got the UWC separate as I'm waiting for the Solar+PowerWall to work. Didn't want to spend all the money one the Gateway just to have it irrelevant when I get the PowerWall installed.

Just going with 1 PowerWall, but it'd be nice to be able to power the house even if I'm not home, even if for only a short while. I really do hope that they don't change their tune and say that wont work!
Gateway 3 is still required with Powerwall if you want to use the CT battery as backup generator.

Gateway 3 or backup switch are needed.
What isn't needed is Powershare Gateway 3V, which is what @BoneHead was avoiding buying (the Powershare combo).

Note
A Powerwall system with Wall Connector does not require any additional equipment or installation steps; Powershare functionality will be enabled with a software update. Do not install Powershare Gateway with a Powerwall system. Do not attempt to run communication wiring between the Wall Connector and the Powerwall or Backup Gateway / Backup Switch.

I have the PowerShare installed. What actually IS nice is that it integrates fine with pre-existing solar, whereas the solar previously de-activated when the utility power went down, which was exactly the wrong time to lose that power. The NEMA 14-50 solution might work too with solar, or not, but would require either a manual cutover back to utility power, bringing the truck power and, especially, the solar power all the way down first (else a phase mismatch), or to automate everything, it would require circuitry on par with the PowerShare units anyway.

In that way it is money pretty well spent.
Do you have Tesla solar or other? I have SolarEdge and hope it works to charge the CT when off grid.

if you have a generator port you can plug into it and charge house batteries or run house.

Yes, how do you install this with a powerwall
System?

I self installed the 3V gateway and powershare has been running flawlessly. I already had a universal wall connector, tied the system in so when my solar batteries goes out or run out of juice the powershare kicks on.

Have a eaton smart breaker for solar outputs wired in panel to protect any weird surges. They automatically turn off/on depending on commands sent from solarassistant monitors.

the generator port should have a start and stop wire which is controlled by SOC or voltage.

I almost got my powershare installed today…well, yesterday and today…and they’re coming back tomorrow to finish it…I think the city inspector has been by more times than the electrician’s have…

I don’t think I actually had the benefit of electrician’s installing mine…this ain’t a 20 hour job…it’s literally just a detached garage with well under 120 amps on all 6 or 8 circuits (I don’t know if you count the double breakers as 1 or 2)…

I’ve only waited since June 2024, so no rush I guess…at least I have a wall connector and an almost connected power share gateway! They forgot the signaling cable between gateway and sub panel or something…literally just a few feet of Ethernet cable with the ends chopped off…
