I sure hope Tesla Energy releases the Powerwall update for PowerShare...really hoping they do it according to their stated timeline (before end of this year).

They have a large inventory of un purchased PowerShare bundles.

They anticipate much lower cybertruck and PowerShare take rate.
This would explain why they recently sent me a survey about Powershare.

People are jerryrigging (not that guy) dirt cheap CT battery to house with main cutoff using the 14-50 to handle blackouts.
I used the regular 5-20 bed outlets and extension cords to the important devices (fridge, garage door opener). This truck is so capable that it seems to be cutting into their other product sales. 😁

Jim Buck said: "I have the PowerShare installed. What actually IS nice is that it integrates fine with pre-existing solar, whereas the solar previously de-activated when the utility power went down, which was exactly the wrong time to lose that power. The NEMA 14-50 solution might work too with solar, or not, but would require either a manual cutover back to utility power, bringing the truck power and, especially, the solar power all the way down first (else a phase mismatch), or to automate everything, it would require circuitry on par with the PowerShare units anyway.

In that way it is money pretty well spent."

I have similar setup, but I don't know if Tesla will ever get the micro inverters on my solar panels to work with the CT. Does anyone have any feedback from Tesla?

Now if someone wants to try making this order and canceling the gateway, to see how well they coded the bundle :ROFLMAO:

Anyway is there any indication how long this promo is good for? I need some quotes first for installation before I pull the trigger.

Well I just received this email tonight. Am interested but with all the feedback of people having problems with it, not sure I'm ready to bite. Also looking at possibly moving next year so hoping the deals will still be there next year.

I got the UWC separate as I'm waiting for the Solar+PowerWall to work. Didn't want to spend all the money one the Gateway just to have it irrelevant when I get the PowerWall installed.

Just going with 1 PowerWall, but it'd be nice to be able to power the house even if I'm not home, even if for only a short while. I really do hope that they don't change their tune and say that wont work!

I really wanted the PowerShare to work but with $4k quoted for installation and no battery backup unless you opt in for a $17k powerwall option, I opted to go with a Ecoflow delta pro ultra, for $5k they have a inverter, battery and smart home panel that backs up the entire home, solar ready option and allows me enough time to plug in the CT as a generator so I can charge the battery and power the house in case of a blackout 👍🏻
Isn't the point that your truck's battery is the backup battery so you don't need a powerwall?

Yup that’s partially why I got the Cybertruck, but we also wanted a backup to the backup so it keeps electronics and fridge on in case we are away from home. It has a 20 millisecond whole house backup so it’s pretty much instantaneous, and it also has a generator hook up for the truck to plug into

event scenario:
1. grid down
2. PW kicks in automatically, provides coverage of home power use, up to the KW rate limit and length of time kwh
3. Solar powering the home but PWs getting low for long grid outage (nighttime), Cybertruck battery full from bef grid down
4. switch to Powershare, due to PWs depleted, utilizing the Cybertruck battery
5. solar continues to power home during the day, charge the PWs and cybertruck as cybertruck also powers the gap (this is the tricky phase, we have solar and the cybertruck as power inputs to the home with the Grid still down, what direction does the power go, what priority?)
6. as the Grid is still down, solar continues to power the home during the day, hopefully recharging the PWs, we can drive the Cybertruck to a Tesla Supercharger and recharge
7. cybertruck can then be used again as a power source

the cybertruck is the gap filler and temp power extender for grid down, PWs depleted and solar running
a bit of a mind bender, imagine the power input priority is:

1. Solar
2. PWs
3. Cybertruck

Whomever can provide the energy for the current load, top down, is called upon, then the subsequent sources below, if the sources are not charging they are being charged
wow, cool

my eg4 inverter has a nema14-50 for generator (I put the plug on to switch between truck and generator was wired with plug directly to generator before), if battery level gets too low it automatically switches to generator which is plugged into the cybertruck. if truck battery gets low I can plug in the generator. EG4 can auto start generator when battery level gets too low.

I also have PW and solar and was planning on buying the range extender for the CT to have massive extra battery in the truck. I wonder if someone will release an aftermarket range extender?

I'm happy to report that Tesla did me a nice favor. I had been working with QMerit on a PowerShare solution. There were two directions to go or choices to be made (move a few main panel circuits to a backup panel that the truck/wall connector/gateway would back up or wait for Tesla to get a meter collar adapter safety tested that would back up the whole house - and then it would have to be approved by the utility before it could be used). The meter collar adapter seemed like a better neater cleaner solution, so I chose that. But it has taken some time and Tesla still hasn't received the approval yet. I waited for over a year. They are estimating end of year for the approval.

About 8 weeks ago, QMerit told me they had to close out my job. So I could get a $2500 voucher if I said okay that day or nothing if I waited. With no real choice, I opted for the $2500 voucher and lost the $4,000 previous Powershare incentive from my CyberBeast truck purchase.

We went on a road trip and after we returned in September, the $2500 credit was in my account, so I purchased the $2500 Powershare Bundle with the credit (plus tax). It arrived and I figured I would just wait until the meter collar adapter got approved and get everything installed. Not as good as my $4,000 previous incentive that would have covered everything, but that's the way it goes.

In the meantime, I did get the Powershare survey and told the story about how I had the $4,000 incentive and had it reduced to the $2500 voucher while waiting for the meter collar adapter. Never heard anything back about the survey.

I had only received the PowerShare bundle 2 or 3 weeks earlier when they lowered the price by $510. So I wrote a nice note on their website to the support folks and told them the story and asked if they might consider giving me a credit for $510 as a price match since I barely had the equipment for a short time when it was reduced in price.

I heard back in a day or two and the response was that they don't normally do this, but they would make a one-time exception in my case and here I am just a couple of days later with a $510 credit in my account. Did the survey help? Did they look at my history and see what happened? I'm a long-term customer from 2013 and have spent a lot of money over the years on Tesla cars and web shop stuff. Not sure if that helped, but I appreciate their efforts.

Big thanks to Tesla...

I had my tires rotated and had to select my card instead of credits to pay for it. Fast forward I purchased the powershare bundle for $1909 with my credits...I thought. Next day I see $2100 and some change hit my debit card for the powershare. After a few phone calls and emails I have to wait for them to be delivered then return them and wait 7-10 days for refund after they inspect them and reorder with the credits 🤦‍♂️
