Question for those of you that live in a full service building. Do you or will you be comfortable giving your cybertruck to valet to park for you? I’m definitely not talking about restaurant valet's or one time situations and I understand many people are highly against giving any of their cars to valet. That’s ok.

Currently we give our model Y to valet and we haven’t had any problems and they even charge it for us. They drive much much more expensive cars (Mercedes EQS/S/G, Model S/X, full size Range Rovers, Rolls Royce Cullinen/Dawn), there are cameras, and they also track which valet parks and delivers the cars.

Only main concern is the size and learning curve of the cybertruck. We can park it ourselves but we have a baby and there is no easy access from the garage with groceries/baby.

Thoughts?

I don’t recall there being a valet mode on the Cybertruck. I could be wrong though, need to double check. Obviously I’ve never used it ?
Not sure if Valet mode solves the issue of steer by wire being new to valet drivers or how long the car is going up and down ramps. But ok. Thanks!

You’re right. Valet mode does not solve the steer by wire learning curve.

I went off on a tangent thinking about valet ?‍♂

There's definitely a Valet Mode...and you can be sure I'll enable it if I ever valet mine, haha!!

To the OP's question: I'd argue that there's a learning curve with most any car.

As for size:

- CT is a bit shorter than a Ford F-150.

- It's only about 14" longer than a Cullinan.

And SbW/RWS make it much more maneuverable than either.

Bottom line (for me): I wouldn't worry (too much, haha!!) about it.

On the list of first world problems, this is pretty high, LOL.

First, it is at YOUR building, not some random restaurant.

I would assume there is fairly finite pool of valet drivers and not a lot of turn over? I would think you could ride with a couple of them and ask them to share their experience with other drivers? Maybe also print out a one-page handout on the CT nuances and ask a supervisor to share this information with the pool of valet drivers working there.

As you mentioned, having that benefit and not feeling like you use it would be a real bummer. Good luck!

I have used the valet service several times with my Model X and I mention that I can watch them drive it and see where it is with the cams. Including inside the car. I show them location tracking. Pretty cool… they usually get it. I don’t think it has ever been bueller’d.

I live in Miami and we have the same situation here with full service building. I actually got one of the valet guys and showed him how to drive it and tasked him with being the one to drive it. The other option is when i dont know the valet is to drive the car to my spot with the valet in the car.. Unfortunately, i dont really trust them and they scratched my wife's new Y Performance literally with 100 miles on it.. Things happen so Im pretty careful with who drives it. We also have super expensive cars here like Lambos, Rolls, Bentley, Ferraris, etc so they probably think Im an idiot but parts are so rare on these cars now that this is really my fear vs anything else.

This is really my big concern. Accidents happen and I'm pretty understanding about these things but it's the hassle and the lack of parts that worry me. I appreciate everyone's help. I got some great advice.

I feel you.. Thats exactly my concern too.. These guys are used to driving Teslas since every model is represented here except a Roadster but my concern was the sheer size of this thing and the fact that the proximity sensors arent working yet make this more challenging.. But they do drive Escalades and other big SUVs and trucks so it should be ok.. Actually the Cybertruck is way easier to drive that a huge Escalade in my opinion..
