Door will not open from outside

Driver side rear door will not open. The white light in the middle of the button is not lighting up, nothing happens when pressing it. The door opens fine from the inside.
Spoke to support, they think it’s a firmware issue so I’m without a functioning door for a few weeks. Thank god it’s not the drivers door.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Oh, that's certainly a possibility. A loose connection can give incorrect diagnostic data as well.

It could also just be broken. Random parts do fail, and it sucks when it's just yours.

If it's a software issue, they might be able to tell if there's a firmware version or touch date difference when they access the service interface. Like the radio for the key cards, updating the distributed processing units can fail.

I’m gonna show how dumb I am. I have no idea to do that. I looked at the app and I can only see how to open/close the trunk and frunk.

The feature was only recently added. You must be within close range.

In the app Select Controls. Brings you to a screen where you can control most things, bed cover, charge port, doors(if in range) horn, windows , flash lights. Try that. Also check if the button on the inside of the door opens it. If so the outside button is either disconnected or broke.

Wouldn’t service have recommended bringing it in to replace/repair, if they thought it was a disconnected wire or broken?
If they don’t even want it brought in, it’s probably already a known issue at this point.

They could be misinterpreting the problem with “door not opening” or their diagnosis tool is reporting back that the button is faulty and he has to bring it in anyway. We are just trying to diagnose it more for our own edification.
