Driver door issues - driver door open button not working at all

Today the exterior driver door open button went from being intermittent to not working at all. I am now having to open the passenger door to operate the interior driver door open button then go around to get in the driver’s seat. (I’m too old to maneuver into the driver’s seat from the passenger seat.)

Can you crack the window and then use the manual release?

The capacitive sensor probably got delaminated. It's a thing that happens, hopefully it won't be a difficult fix!

Have you not heard anything back? That's very uncommon. You did create the service request in the app, didn't you? You should receive a response next business day.

Have you found the manual release yet? Just make sure to crack the window before using it. (I'm assuming that the door sill is on the way of opening the door like it is on other Teslas)

Thanks! Your suggestion helps explain why I can easily open the door first thing in the morning when it's cool. It progressively gets harder to get the switch to open the door as ambient temp rises, until later in the day when the door switch won't work at all.

Thanks, but reset doesn't fix the problem. I strongly suspect it's a hardware issue.

I called the service center and they scheduled an appointment ten days out. The down side is that it's a six hour drive, round trip, to get to the nearest service center. A service center is under construction in Tallahassee. Hoping it might open before the end of this year.

My issue is that the button outside the driver door, that is used in place of a door handle, doesn't open the door,
