I’m not a fan of this led setup. Looking for alternatives. I like the fact that it’s blacked out when off(because of smoke lens), vs doing glow or reflective where it’s always seen.
Posted here first to get feedback and input and I appreciate all of it! I will be back with some new options soon. Keep the ideas rolling!

Also, anyone interested in having a step incorpated? Which would also solve as a cover of sorts for the whoLe hitch ugliness business back there?

I’ll be honest I’m confused by the idea of a tow hitch step on the CT. On my FJ, where the gate swings out sideways it makes sense; I can use it to step up higher and reach things on the roof. On the CT, as soon as I open the tailgate, which I basically do anytime I want to get something out of the vault, the step is covered so I don’t think I’ve gained anything. But, maybe I’m doing truck stuff wrong?

Just to be clear, what I’m looking to buy for the cybertruck hitch opening cleanup hopefully won’t be integrated into any solution such as your light. I just want it to be something that basically goes flush is slotted so that the chain loops are accessible and has cut outs for the actual hitch receiver and harness connection points.

I’ll never put the regular cover back on and I generally leave my ball hitch attached all the time. I want the new cover to be able to stay in place always and allow me to change the attachments through it.

Just one guy’s opinion. I also see your point about it being completely black when not illuminated which, definitely looks cool. But hasn’t Tesla achieved the same effect with the tail light? Can you reverse engineer their approach/material selection? I’d like that better, I think even if it ends up having to have a glossy finish. Even then, what about a textured overlay like the stupid textured sticker on the cybertruck stainless key-card?

This looks cheap AF. Couldn't even be bothered to put diffusion into the clear plastic logo so you can't see each individual LED?

The "ultimate" would replace the cover panel so you wouldn't see wires dangling, and use the cover panel as the canvas with something like the cybertruck logo instead.

Not that I would buy that either, but I bet it would sell way better.

I think the silhouette would sell better. For whatever reason, CT avoids the T-logo like the plague.
The T-logo isn't my favorite. I would always prefer TESLA or CYBERTRUCK.

with that install in the trailer wiring, does it make the truck think a trailer is attache’d and not allow full self driving or auto park?

Just turn off tow mode. It stays off until you unplug and plug in again.

I probably tow a trailer 3-4 times a month. In my opinion, the snap-on plastic cover for the trailer receiver and light plugs is a big miss. Not what I expected for a "work" truck. It is just a pain in arse to access for removal or installing the cover. The whole rear bumper looks crappy without the cover in place and if one keeps removing and then re-installing the cover, the plastic snaps will fatigue and fail sooner rather than later. Sorry, but a cute light in the trailer receiver is not "elevating the hitch."

We need a new bumper design with a user friendly and better-looking hitch setup. Now that would be great! Maybe made out of metal and incorporating a built-in step that is accessible when the tailgate is down. Absent that, then a hitch cover with cutouts to access the receiver and light plugs would be nice. All the plastic on the bumper and tailgate trim is cheap looking and not very durable.

It's part of the aerodynamic optimization. It's not there because Tesla cheapened out, it has a very functional purpose when the truck isn't towing.

I agree……it looked too small on this one. Which is why I didn’t post it.
hedgehog looks good tho.
Cerberus coming tomorrow.

Working on a larger rectangle shape for silhouette and also graffiti.
What about the Cyber OWL?? Gotta get that one as an option too!

And how about making one for a 'Cat Mobile'?? The Cyber CAT!! hehe...
