Well….. Not exactly true. All of the CTs will have FSD hardware and software. Just that some will not have FSD enabled.

That means that Tesla can use FSD to get the CT to its delivery destination and then disable FSD for the handover. Once the owner takes possession, FSD would not be turned on.
😊Got to love the over the air software ability to control the vehicle. Signs of the times.

Just think, they could FSD your truck to the service center.

What service center? I heard that electric vehicles don’t break down like the ICE counterparts do?

Hey, they still need tires and brakes and little pieces of trim put back on them. And once in a long while, their coolant needs to be replaced. And things do break, from time to time.

They aren't unskilled, and you need the tools and parts... Which have to come to your place anyhow. Why not the truck to go get the shoes without human labor involved?

-Crissa
😊I only have a GED education and I can do all of the repairs myself on my ICE vehicle including timing belt and automatic transmission overhaul. And this was done before the internet and You Tube era. Only relied on Chilton’s and Hayes repair manuals.

to add, it just occurred to me:

The Austin factory is tucked inot a corner. River to the south, freeway to the west.

There is a 'public' carpark to the North.

Clearly its Tunnels.

Good chance tunnel entries and exits will be internal.

From the outside it will be peaceful, internally they will be pushing 5 - 10 millin cars out.

804 mile trip to my house. I don't see that happening and it would make me more nervous than going and picking it up myself. And my luck says it would end up in a bayou in Louisiana somewhere ... floating helplessly while some swamp folk ease up in their pirogue. Sounds cool, but I think we're a little ways off from that reality.

Seriously, we've been hearing these inflated "concept level" non-deliverable statements since 2012. Post-twitter Elon is a nob.
2012 is post twitter?

Yeah, but putting tires on rims without gouging them up is a bit difficult and most people don't have a wheel balancer at home. :ROFLMAO:
😊Back in the 1960’s, all you needed were two iron bars to detach a tire from the rim.

sigh

There is nothing that says

1. That every new Cybertruck will drive itself the entire distance to it's new home.

2. That self delivery will be only option.

3. That the new owner will not get to choose delivery method.

4. All or any current delivery method options will be removed.

We may even have modified purchase agreements to allow for extra mileage on the clock when it gets to you.

Perhaps the thing has driven 1000 miles from the distribution point to your house.

Maybe if you don't like that idea, there is an option to pay a $500 premium to have it carted all the way to your house.

No way even a 100 mile round-trip last leg delivery by flatbed truck will only be $500 no less a 1,000 miler round-trip delivery.

100 mile round-trip last leg delivery by flatbed truck would be $1K-$2K.
