We’re honored to have Laura, “That RV Girl” visit our Los Angeles space and tour the Evotrex-PG5, a rolling powerhouse on wheels. It not only provides assist while towing, but can also DC fast charge an EV and power your entire home when parked. Watch the full 27-minute walkthrough and let us know your favorite features! Who should we invite next to experience the next-generation RV trailer?

The generator is the best part.
Solar panels alone aren't going to cut it.
You need a generator if you want to really extend your range.

And it is a 75 kW automotive-grade generator! More powerful, more efficient, and quieter.

What if you want to stay out there long and ran out out gas? Your engineers are not motivated enough to create a good enough solar system to stay off grid longer. Still using ICE engine is just lazy design. This will likely sell to Rivian and other ICE truck buyer. If I could build my own 3.5kWh of solar wings with a 60kW battery pack on my CT. I am sure your engineering team could too.

We have a calculator available online to help you estimate how long you can stay off-grid, and you can always bring extra cans if needed. Our generator delivers up to 225 kWh per cycle, supported by 1.5 kW of rooftop solar and a 43 kWh onboard battery. All backed by a team of incredibly hardworking and motivated engineers. 🙂

Thank you! Hope we can show you the PG5 in person at one of those events soon!

Loving it! Seems like a lot of thought went into it. @evotrex: Question about the battery. Does it have a TMS? It will spend most of its life outdoors, and in AZ, that means up to 120F. I am hoping that it takes care of the battery to ensure long life.

If you are a somewhat attractive 25-35 woman and you have not found some random niche of things you can review to attract men and make money you are doing life wrong. The Rake Girl, The power tool girl, the industrial welding equipment girl. Lots of money to be made apparently.....

I don't doubt the hard work your engineering team is doing, but I don't favor an EV ecosystem involved with ICE equipment. It's just my way.:)

I've been thinking about how to go about something like that. Posted a bit here and a few other posts in the thread:
https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...ck-mod-changes-everything.55782/post-30785575

With 9 400 Watt solar panels one gets 3.6kW peak solar generation and should provide a reasonable amount of solar a day for recharging. It just gets out into the slip stream a bit when driving. The big issue is the orientation they will be in when collecting. The nice thing is one could easily change the direction the CT is pointing to get increased solar generation.

I'm currently playing with my super sleek design that only has 800 W of fixed panels with minimal additional aerodynamic drag. After I figure out it's design details, I may play with one of the 9 400 Watt solar panel designs. Is the additional drag worth it?

I just was pointed to a Lensun Solar flexible solar panel that has it's junction box on the back side. Looks promising. With it a 25mm spacing for pull out drawers might be possible.

If somebody wrote an app to talk to a solar generator and the CT one could turn on and off the charging and control the charge rate to automate charging during the day. Having a 9 400 watt solar panel setup with only a 5kWh battery becomes reasonable for extending range for somebody boon docking multiple days at a site. The 5KWh battery can smooth out the solar generation allowing the CT to ramp up and down it's charge rate to put the bulk of the solar directly into the CT.

If you want more solar for air conditioner and heat pump use, I figure a minimum of 3X the roof area of the RV is needed if the RV is insulated very well. This includes doors and windows. When I figured that out years ago, so the amount needed might be less now that solar cells are more efficient. I started working on how to pack that onto a RV roof with minimal roof height gain, and be able to retract the solar awning after a light freezing rain event. I'm not sure any of my designs would handle the freezing part yet, but rain, yes. Because I wanted the awning to serve as shade and rain protection for those under it, it isn't so simple as using over extension drawer glides.

I was dreaming of an bus conversion camper back in the 1990s. That is when I figured out how much solar was needed for air conditioning and heat pump heating. I was also thinking of taking a Porsche 550 kit car and making it into a 4x4 off road capable EV to flat tow behind. I was going to initially use 4 * 100kW motors, and Saft NiCd batteries. Each motor/brake/half shaft/axle unit were made the same. Just different linkages, etc. The money and energy to do both projects never happened. Having ME/CFS sucks. At least the brain mostly works.

And that’s totally okay! We just want to make sure people don’t mistake the integration of a highly complex automotive-grade power generation system as “lazy" or "not motivated".

Yes, we use LFP battery cells engineered to meet stringent EV-industry standards, delivering safe, stable, and reliable energy. Yes it's got the BMS built-in. All-weather performance from -22°F to 140°F
