So I drove 200 plus miles of highway driving yesterday and I am a bit disappointed with my first 13.2.6 experience. I had to intervene a total of about 5 times when I was passing semi trucks on the highway. My CT would cross over the left yellow lane stripe and into the rough cut of the highway intended to wake you up. This area is a foot or less away from dirt. Each time I was passing the semi trucks the CT would get so far out of lane that I felt that I was in danger. I hope that Tesla is able to perfect the lane centering and keeping me in my lane safely done soon. This should not be happening this far into the game.

Argh!!! I am sure this is a dumb question, but if it sees the lines, can’t it be trained to stay in the middle or at least between them? I understand it is no longer rules based, but if they need a video of staying in the lane passing a semi, I can do that!

this is a worry. Seems like a little focus could fix this. 3rd update with this issue!!

I have had my CT for about one month and since the day that I took delivery it has had issues with staying in the center of the lane stripes. My hard v. 3 Model S was much better at keeping within the lane stripes. The CT has been disappointing with this respect. Otherwise I would absolutely love the truck. With this major flaw in FSD I just do not feel the confidence in the truck's driving that I should feel at this point. I hope it changes soon.

When a patch comes out with no new notes, I assume nothing will change and watch one of chucks videos for what is probably one of the least hype filled and objective breakdowns as I have been able to find.

I just wouldn't get my hopes up for anything but a major patch.

It’s disappointing that the vehicle that was promoted to buyers as the pinnacle of Tesla’s fleet continues to lag other offerings in features and function.

I had to intervene early on, when it would steer too close to obstacles. But lately, I've been using FSD everywhere without interventions at all.

I agree there's a problem, but can't explain the disparity in experiences.

Agreed. I hear all of the great CT FSD reports and wonder why my CT is so poor at keeping me in my lane. It is very strange that the disparity exists and wonder if it has to do with the initial camera calibration done by us, the users. I would have rather had Tesla do the camera calibration and hand the truck over to me with 15 miles on it than have me calibrate the cameras myself. Whatever the case I am very disappointed and will remain that way until it is resolved.

Tesla started intentionally moving cars away from semis a couple years ago - but they took it too far and even early on cars were moving off the road. What I would like to see Tesla do is to not dawdle in potentially risky conditions. Pass as quickly as reasonable, stay out of other’s blind spots, don’t hang out in intersections, merge to highway speed quickly, move out of the slow lane near on ramps, etc.

if your are suffering line hugging or even crossing, 1. make sure the cameras are clean and 2. do a camera calibration. I needed the calibration after the last update and since then it's been spot on solid.

I had a very good experience with the highway on ramp and acceleration into the merge yesterday. I was in chill mode and the truck made a great entry onto the highway, accelerating aggressively and merging better than I might have done myself. It was a pleasant surprise.

Strange, I drive on CT FSD a lot and haven't seen this on my truck. 300 miles this week, it has not shown a drifting behavior like this at all. I very rarely need to take over, even when overtaking vehicles on 2 lane highways now, all fsd.

I can't help but wonder if this is a local issue that could be resolved.

I knew that was an option but since it draws the lines properly on the screen, I did not think calibration would change anything. I will try it though. THANKS!

I don't know that I noticed if it was crossing lines on the display now that you say that...
I will say I do about 3-400 miles a week on on FSD and it's rare that I need an intervention. I only seem to need it for road debris or a bad railroad track. There was a missed exit ramp a few weeks ago but that was only once and every day since it's handled it perfectly. I would say don't give up on it. I've watch it mature from the very beginning in 2016 when we got our first Autopilot. It's quite impressive how far it's come.
