Who here plans to drive on the beach and Fish with the Cybertruck? Does anyone have any actual experience? My current rig is a Bronco, but already have place my order for the Founders edition and expect to have it by summer. I have my rod holders figured out and plenty of room for a cooler and gear, but am worried about this handling the soft sand on Long Island. Does the Cybertruck no longer have an onboard air compressor for airing up?

The onboard air isn't for tires. The hose would weigh as much as a battery-operated pump.

...I don't know why you'd want to bring something heavy and expensive into the surf with you, but I suppose not everyone can wade.

The usable air compressor was cut from the CT. They will offer an onboard addon air compressor or you can buy one and plug it in to the power outlet in the truck.
EVs in general can have issues in sand due to the weight and if you go in that sand with the tires at 50PSI you may have some issues.

First time trying it would go with a buddy that can pull you out if needed. 6,600lbs is a LOT of weight on those size tires, if you do air down make sure to take an additional compressor with you to pump them back up.

I wouldn't air down, as that creates slop in the traction control.

Unless you need to get up a slope, like a dune or approach, and a good beach for surf fishing that your truck won't sink in should be pretty flat.

Yeah, I know, sounds counter-intuitive but it's easier to get air out of tires than in.

Interesting thoughts.

You may also want to look at the Cybertruck Crossbars (tesla.com)
There are 4 places they can be mounted and may allow for multiple rods, or at least a slightly different configuration. There are also 3rd-party sellers with options as well.

Just be careful if you decide to go fishing like this with your Cybertruck.

If you aren't careful, then you might want to change the name of this thread to "Fishing for and the Cybertruck" :)

The furthest I'd go is on the beach. No worries about handling beach sand. Some splashing fun on the shallow will do, till people get sick of it. Beware of humans.

If you wish to go into the really deep, use a boat. Use a drone if you simply wish to cast further.

Open up the 270 degree awning, and set up CGear mat, table chairs, a nice air-conditioned environment for a family day at the beach.

I think airing down is still better. More surface area on the sand. I will have an onboard compressor, so not worried about airing up. I can air up my 4 bronco tires in 7 minutes.

When I was in High School I drove my lifted Tahoe down on the beach to impress a girl. We were in the back for a while and eventually noticed the car was rocking without our help. I opened the door and realized the tide had come in... up to the nerf bars! A few months later I was driving along and heard a loud ping. I looked in my mirror just in time to see my driveshaft whirling off onto the shoulder of the road. Never again in the salt water!
