It was introduced as a $40k truck, remember? Then it was $60k, $80k, $100k soft shuffle. Now it’s $100-110K? Just as Tesla started with a roaster then pivoted to the higher end passenger car, I would guess they will relay to the high-end of the truck market….eventually. I hope my 2013 BMW X3 lasts until that time.
This is exactly my thoughts also. I was emailed on Dec. 8th to configure my Founders Edition. My thoughts were that Tesla just made it easy for me to say no. I figure in about 5 years the Dual motor will be around $50-60K. I was driving a nice 2015 Avalon, but I had money saved up for my $50K Cybertruck. In January, I saw I could get a brand-new Model Y in Inventory for $44,090 and take $7500 off of that. I did a test drive and the rest is history.
My one recommendation. Use a referral code to start the purchase. I screwed up and purchased mine, wondering when to put in my friend's referral code. And when I didn't see how to put in a referral code, I called Tesla and was told you have to do the purchase from using the referral code first.

Rumor is that the FS trucks are limited to 20,000 units.

We will find out this year as Tesla is supposedly manufacturing around 1k Cybertruck’s per week.

First it was 1,000 then 5,000 then 10,000 etc. soon we’ll be saying “rumor is 500,000…”

Incredible for doing what?
Work? I don't think so.
You are delusional if you think that your use case is all that matters. You may see it as a “toy” and that’s fine. Your opinion of it is valid and only really matters to you. Everyone else who has a truck or is waiting for delivery or just got their invite, they’re opinions are just as valid. Trashing it because you don’t want it just seems childish. They’re plenty of things people don’t want without the need to trash it. If it doesn’t work for your use case then there are plenty of other trucks that everything won’t crash around in the back when you hit accelerator.

I think they will keep selling them until the buyers run out. Who knows how long that will be.

They are two weeks into the reservation list from 2019, and it's taken 6 months. There's still 4 years of a backlog. And, they still will have to go back to the beginning of the list again once the regular trucks are ready and offer those to people who passed. Seems like at least another 2 years to get that all done.

My place in line is 223,000+ and they sent me a foundation invite, but y'know what?
I'm out.
It's not a truck it's a toy. If you have cargo in that thing and hit the pedal, it's flying all over the place.

I have come to the conclusion that it's completely useless to me.
And you know what? When it first drove onto the stage, that was my initial reaction.

Everyone will probably differ on its utility. I have had mine for a month now and am doing a large scale home remodel, so I have used mine to tow, haul dirt, rock, lumber and various materials. It does great. The bed design has pluses and minuses. The front of the bed is too tall to reach into, so that is a minus, but the secure cover design allows you to have a safe storage in your bed but also allows you to open it easily to carry tall items. This is much more difficult to do with traditional truck bed designs, covers and caps. The bed also is too slick, but easily adjusted with an aftermarket mat, which is what I did. I would prefer it came less slick, but all well. Towing 3K lbs I lose about 30% range, so for me that is more than acceptable. I could see someone pulling heavy loads daily who doesn't have the ability to charge at home finding it more inconvenient, but if you can charge at home most people will likely find the trucks range adequate. It is an incredibly capable machine, a blast to drive and really quite comfortable as well. Not to mention, when my daughter dropped her bike against it on day one of owning it I didn't have to worry about dents or scratches in my new truck!

?

If you 'hit the pedal' with anything and your load isn't secure, yeah, things are gonna fly around. So, are you like really out? Like delete-your-account out? Or are you gonna be forum creepin' because you aren't actually out. I'm tellin you, the Cybertruck is absolutely not "useless", maaaybe to you?, maybe you just haven't driven it yet?, but I think it's really frickin' great and exciting in a mind-altering way. It's both a truck and a toy, man. It's so dope. I'm 2 weeks in with it and I'm glowing. My wife is now a total convert (doesn't want to drive her once-favorite car anymore) and we're doing rock paper scissors to see who gets to drive next. Best vehicle decision I ever made. Whatever decision you make, I hope its the best one for you.

Cheers!

Help me understand how this is a uniquely cybertruck specific issue and any different than any other truck? Does the Ford F150 have some gravity control feature I don't know about? Are you under the impression that the Cybertruck only accelerates at full torque and acceleration every time you touch the acceleraterno matter what? ?

Received the foundation invite today. But $93,990 is a bit too much in my opinion. Hope I can get my original preorder this year.

Yet, you're still here, on a Cybertruck forum... Taking the time and flapping your phalanges about why you don't want a Cybertruck.

I think I'll go and log into a Toyota Minivan forum and whine about how I don't like the sliding door.. oh wait, jk ... I'm not a weirdo
