Easy. They order parts. System reports the parts are coming. But reality is that nothing is coming…the system can even reports parts as delivered and installed but such reports can’t make it so.

Got my foundation series beast in March 2024. I haven’t received a notification that my light bar is ready to be installed. However, I’m friends with with the general manager at my service center, and he said that they’re in the process of revising to a new light bar, which is why people aren’t being notified that theirs is ready.

Also, for everyone saying that it’s based on the VIN, I can tell you that this is not correct at all. Reason being is that I’m VIN 000218. My service manager confirmed that it does not go in order of the VIN at all. ?‍

i have a service scheduled for a charging port door issue, i added the lightbar installation request, and they have yet to kick it back, i want it, but but a few of you are talking about a 2.0 lightbar (that i would assume might come with a cover?)
I'll report back when i go in 2/25

Definitely BS. That’s been demonstrated over and over. I was installed months ahead of people with far lower VINs who are still waiting.

Standalone appointment don't do or request as an addon to other service. I Heard the same message when I tried to do it as an add-on. So I just scheduled it separately and it was installed without issue or question

Got my truck June 2024. I got the email saying wheel covers and light bar were coming. I got my when cover in Jan by asking nicely at my service center (and I always bring them donuts when I have an appointment). I never received an email that either were ready. I have an appointment next week for a frunk issue so I messaged them to see if the light bar was available but they still said I need to wait for an email.

Does anyone know if just picking up the lightbar is an option? Or does tesla have to install it (except for the final electeical that the customer is required to do)?

I do not think you can pick it up to do the install yourself or else Tesla could not warranty that it would stay attached to the truck. If you read the install procedure it is very specific, down to the size of the bead of the adhesive, this isn't something Tesla is going to put into the hands of owners IMHO.

Update - sorry have been occupied IRL but I can confirm after alot of perseverance (3 visits and 2 SCs), I was able to get the lightbar installed. Just finally had time to connect the plug in the B-pillar, which took maybe 5 mins tonight.

Edit - I was provided a loaner and the Truck was at the shop about 6 hours. I was handed a print out of a service document and sent on my way when I picked it up. That's it, it was pretty hush hush tbh. It does not show on the original service request. Only shows - "Other External Accessory"

For all those waiting, I am preparing to receiving a 50 dollar cupon instead of a lightbar to buy something from the overpriced Tesla shop. This will be around the time they will scrap the range extender.

Update - sorry have been occupied IRL but I can confirm after alot of perseverance (3 visits and 2 SCs), I was able to get the lightbar installed. Just finally had time to connect the plug in the B-pillar, which took maybe 5 mins tonight.

Truck looks awesome. Can you please tell us a little about the Tesla lettering on your DRL? How did you do that? Is there a product out there meant for this?
Is it limited to just Tesla letters or can you do other words or graphics on there too?
