My house is not worth 1.3 million dollars.

Haven't I made it clear I do not live in a suburban area? On a smaller piece of land than the square footage of those million dollar homes?

-Crissa
Sorry, so many empirical from my sister, brother and his son.

My brother bought his house for $450K and he was able to sell it for $1.7MM.

But oh man, he bought a bigger house in exclusive community in SoCal, duh. I would have pocketed the money and would have bought myself a Beast with the accessories , bells and whistles
and all.

Wish I was patient and waited. But I lost my damn mind for 15 mins and put down the deposit for the FS. Yall in a better position right now than I am. Be glad lol
Same here!

But I have a plan.

And hope I won't get punched in the mouth.

so i am not sure maybe it's just me thinking about what will be in the configurator once FS is done with orders. Would we lose the following and it's an addon?

1. FSD - Yes will need to add
2. Premium interior -?
3. Audio -?
4. bed power outlets -?
5. charger - Yes will need to add
6. Tires - Yes will need to add if larger ones are wanted
I was invited before x-Max and decided to wait for non-foundation AWD for the following reasons:
1. Don't want FSD; enhanced autopilot ($6k vis $12k) is good enough as I have used daily with my Tesla 3 since 2018.
2. When required for supercharge for long driving, but 2x times waiting for charging (~40min from 10-70%) compared to Tesla for the same miles to drive. I cannot see myself doing this. Hope for battery or Supercharge upgrade.
3. No $7,500 EV credit

I also skipped the FS invite even though i could have likely ended up as one of the first non-employee deliveries if I had also been willing to go with the AWD rather than the trimotor.

I’m going to be waiting forever anyway because I’m gonna’ go for the CB, though.

My rationale is that FS is a total waste of money for me. I also want to be able to customize my order more. I don’t want a white interior either. With the money I save I can do upgrades like the ones unplugged performance offers which aren’t cheap but are high quality. Additionally, I was a very early adopter for the model S and i am still driving that car and being an early adopter means dealing with some extra headaches and often problems that get ironed out later in production that this time around I would like to avoid getting stuck with for a decade or more because I drive vehicles into the ground rather than getting a new car every few years. Paying extra just to be first is fine if you can afford it but that’s not me at the moment so I will be as patient as possible and wait. It also gives time for third party vendors to come up with more ways to mod the CT/CB to one’s personal taste and more time for me to figure out how I want to configure it to meet my needs. As a bonus, I’ll get to see how all sorts of wraps look on it and that will make it easier to be confident in whatever decision I eventually make in that regard when the time comes.

AND, having said all that, I wake up each day and the first thing I do is check to see if I can configure my non-FS order yet. Wish it would happen sooner than later but it’s out of my control so I’m not gonna’ worry about it.

To the OP, kudos for the EA game pay to win analogy. That made me chuckle.

Cheers all

Yeah, the house across from mine - the most expensive on the block with the four car garage, extra lot, big parking area - sold for half your brother's.

I live in a rural neighborhood in an unincorporated town in the mountains about 45 minutes from San Jose and 30 minutes from Santa Cruz. I love the forest, so it's great for me, but it's no sign of wealth. ^-^ Most of our neighborhood is rentals, and not vacation ones. We're on the north/east side of a hill, so cold and dark in the winter.

  1. I want FSD. It's promised at $7k, if I get to order.
  2. This was always going to be true - it's a truck. It's physically bigger and takes twice as much power to go as far.
  3. And yeah, definitely need that to afford the truck.

Have any of you guys seen one in the wild yet? I'm kinda torn cause part of me wants to see it and part of me is like, if I'm gonna have to wait forever it'll just be a tease lol

Got my invite today, RN1128519xx. I'm going to take a few days to think it over but I'm leaning skip.

It'll be interesting to see how long an invite stays active in the account if you decide to do nothing.

In the same boat as everyone here. Got my invite last week - simply cannot afford a truck that would be $1400/m. I have a 2023 LR Model Y and a 2018 LR Model 3 and plan to trade in the Model 3 for the truck. It would still leave payments WAY more than I want to pay and with an interest rate that is insane. So, here I want for the non-foundation series.

I haven’t skipped yet, but I probably will. That is assuming I am ever invited. :) I ordered the trimotor and am willing to wait. I can’t see spending all of that extra and not getting the best performing model. I just hope I get one before the end of this year.

Yea. If I don't hear anything before end of year I'm gonna get some super cheap EV like a Kona or bolt and trade my wife's civic for it. Then we won't have as much of an itch.

Out here we get extra state incentives for EVs under 35k

35000-7500-5000-2500-(~7000 trade) becomes a 13k EV real quick. With no down payment. Then whenever CT comes it comes. (And I can drive my MYP again without having to share it) lol

Good rational plan. I would do similar but I have really needed a truck for a couple of years now. A better value new car would not cut it for me. So it is either wait or get an ICE truck now.
