Hi Mini2nutHello, my name is Mini2nut and I am a skipper?
That's awesome! But the forum is slightly more chill now that people own it.Is it safe to come back in this forum or are we still inundated with bots, trolls, and angry reservation holders
Anyways, I'm waiting and will hopefully be one of the first few in Canada to have it. I got the full amount saved aside thanks to Bitcoin, this truck is only costing me ~$20K
Is that a thing you can do? Especially once you have a vin theres no way theyd let you switch lol. I got the invite in december. I caved and got an old X because it was less than half the cost lolI held out for two months before I caved, haha!! (invite on 01/18/2024….ordered FS AWD on 03/15/2024)
I still might switch my order to non-FS when the VIN comes, especially considering the $7,500 tax credit.
For those who skipped (or will) and are waiting: Hang in there!! Keep hope alive.
It's so hard to not bite.Hello, I’m a day one reservation (1128) Skipper.
Reasons:
- I’m in Canada so I haven’t been offered FS anyway!
- If it’s a $20k USD premium in the US it will be something like $25k CAD in Canada so even more painful
- AT tires: I want AS for better mileage and while I’ll be going on forest trails sometimes it won’t be extreme Hell’s Gate Moab stuff. I’m pretty sure that AS will be good enough. Let’s be honest, I expect even people that do hardcore off-roading spend +80% on blacktop anyway even if it’s just to get to those places
- White interior: in a pickup?
- PowerShare: can’t use because I live in an apartment building
- Free Supercharging: I’ve had free supercharging for life with my two MS, but CT’s limited miles free supercharging as a replacement for Powerwall doesn’t seem like good value
- FSD: I’m not planning on getting it. I’ve had it on my 2013 and 2018 MS, but have only used it ~1% of the time. And when it was used I did it to show others, not b/c I actually wanted to use it. I actually like driving and plan to enjoy driving even more with the CT. I may consider enhanced autopilot...
- Wall connector: already have two
- While I would love to have a CT now I can do without the crowds
- Battery tech: chance for improved 4680s, but not expecting
- Quality improvements: hoping, but not expecting
I’ve purchased TSLA multiple times since early 2011 and have signed up for long-term verified TSLA shareholder delivery to see what happens, but I’m 99% sure I won’t bite.
I never had homelink until now. And it's awesome because I don't have to pay another subscription for it. But I have had a couple instances where it closes an already open door or something when it's not supposed to just because it doesn't know the state of the garage. That's the only real benefit to the myq stuff imoSkipping because I love teslas for their fsd and tech and too much is missing at this stage.
What made the most disappointed were Tesla’s decisions to remove home link and support for Steam games.
Hoping that by waiting I will get a truck that has less missing features.
I don't think I'd do that lol I just put up with it lol. Otherwise it feels like a normal opener lolTrue. I disabled the automatic homelink because of the risk of closing When it should be opening
My question is does the tax credit extend beyond 2024? There’s a chance that even with the recent ramp up Tesla can still keep offering FS trucks through the rest of this year. If non FS trucks aren’t getting delivered until 2025, can the tax credit still be applied?I held out for two months before I caved, haha!! (invite on 01/18/2024….ordered FS AWD on 03/15/2024)

I don't know specifics but Google says it will exist in some form.My question is does the tax credit extend beyond 2024? Ok great. I’d hate for everyone who’s waiting specifically for it to miss out because Tesla’s money grab.I don't know specifics but Google says it will exist in some form.
