How many Florida CT owners are planning to get FPL’s evolution charging installed? If so, how will the evolution work with PowerShare? I am waiting on the quote from Tesla contractor to install the PowerShare and I signed up for Evolution last week.

I would say so @ $38/mo flat rate off peak and weekends how can you go wrong?

Just checked the FPL website and FAQ. If not installed already a home level 2 charger then it seems smart. Otherwise not certain if worth it. I did not recall any off peak $ difference in SW Florida.

It’s level 2. Mine is getting installed as I type this. Since I already had the 240v circuit the monthly cost is actually $31. Not bad at all.

I’ve got solar and powerwalls, I’m charging the Cybertruck on a juice Box. I’m satisfied with the investment in clean energy I’ve made, but feel betrayed by the PSC letting FPL charge me the “Minimum Use” fee every month and only $0.02/kW for energy I send them. Thanks for bringing this program to my attention, but after a little research I’m steering clear. My understanding of their information they provided has some negatives; a ten year commitment with steep cost for early termination, a charger location within only 10 feet of your fuse box, being restricted to charge a single vehicle only (If you own multiple EVs, you must choose only one to be eligible to connect to the equipment.) If you occasionally need a charge outside the program hours you pay much more. On top of all that FPL just planted an additional 55 foot concrete tree across the street from my house. Sheese!

Would this let me escape the money for nothing deal I’m getting now?

It’s too early to tell for me but I got the evolution installed this afternoon and so far so good. $31/mo is a damn good deal. The process from start to finish was painless and the installation was quick.

Is there an agreement you have to sign? I heard there is a 10 year agreement and high fees if you cancel early?

I didn’t sign an agreement. After two weeks I can say with confidence this was an excellent investment!

I researched it a bit more and you do sign an agreement, for 10 years and have the option to buy the equipment after 5 years.
But before 10 years the minimum early termination fee is $768.48.

Also if you move houses, you are required to pay the same fee.
It may still work for some people , but want to make sure we have the facts.

you ignored the minimum termination fee, likely even higher depending when you cancel or if you have to move for any reason.
Just give people the facts instead of defending your decision.
also, if you choose to charge during day on peak is almost twice as much as normal price of $0.14 per kWh per kWh at a rate of 23.71¢ /kWh in addition to the monthly service payment.

if you don't move houses and you have an EV for 10 years it works great! no issues. Just be factual.

If you pay more then $30/mo “for Pennie’s on the dollar” then you are getting screwed.
