I had them do the glass in front of the front windshield camera at my last service appointment. They said they will do it twice for free. I had to have another service appt to fix the triangle piece since it wasn't staying attached afterwards.

I get a fair amount of front camera cleaning warnings, though it does not disable FSD or seem to affect it - except, perhaps, when driving directly in to the sun.

I'm going to clean it, but here's a screenshot from my current Service->Camera Preview -> Main screen. I'd be curious to see how it compares to other's clarity, with or without warnings.

I see the haziness toward the bottom, but I also see that big black bar which I think is the bottom of the camera cover. I'm wondering how normal that is.

Yep, point it at the sun (or a very bright light) right onto the affected area. The haze reduces clarity somewhat, but direct light makes the haze glow, significantly impacting visibility.

It's not all that bad, the clip design doesn't take a lot of pressure to separate and they seem pretty durable. I was more concerned about disconnecting the electronics and took extra care to make sure I didn't force any clips.
The Beauty Cover can be removed without damaging the clips, but the Glare Shield is made of stiff and brittle plastic. I broke one of the tabs during reinstallation.

I still never managed to separate the GPS antenna from the connector, despite using excessive force.

Yeah, I'm expecting to break a clip somewhere. Sigh. Fortunately, I hold a third degree black belt in duct tape and epoxy.

I was very gentle with each step, especially the electronic connectors, most of them had release clips to remove. The service manual was especially helpful with order of operations/photos but not terribly helpful with cable release info. My real paranoia was damaging the frame anchored to the windshield. My fat head nearly ripped the one in my Model X off, fortunately it was right before I traded it in and a little super glue kept it in place long enough for it to not be my issue.

Huh, cool. I opened the Tesla app to message the service department with that picture I posted above to ask if it was within spec. There was already a note there saying I was due for a precision cleaning. This is interesting because I just had it done in August when I took the truck in for tire rotation.

I'm wondering if they're seeing the visibility warnings too, in their telemetry data , and being proactive about getting people in to address it.

The price for the services was set to $0, which is nice because last time (Aug 13th) they charged me for it.

It would be helpful for us DIY to have someone take pics of the removal process. Was hoping there would be a Youtube vid on the subject.

As it happens, my boss was broken also, but I was unaware until I swapped the Glare Shield
OMG, I swapped for my new glare shield last night and I see why the original was broken. That GNSS screw was on tight! Had to get some pliers to hold the broken off brass insert to extract it. Might have spotted a dab of blue Loctite also ...

I had to get a new glare shield as the tabs broke first time. Aftermarket Hansshow mirror so I didn’t want to deal with the SC.
I got my first wiper swipe yesterday after a month so suspect it’s happening again.
I think I would just pick up another glare shield for back up but $30 every 2mo is excessive šŸ˜‚

GPS transferred ok but agree that screw is tight. I also notice myQ in the CT is a lot worse than my 3. Different times of day returning home I get different results with feet from door. Sometimes it even increases distance as I approach.

Which tabs broke? The rear two are tricky because you need to insert the slots in at an angle and then swing it up to the windshield, but I haven't had any issues with the forward two.
