This is called 'privilege'.

Just put the plate on. And they can pull you over in a front-plate state if they want to. Your state's laws are respected only after that.

It’s only a privilege if you live in one of those states. I do not.

I am in California and currently don't have my license plate on. I have been debating if I should install it. It's not a big deal since Tesla made a spot for it, which can be installed and removed quickly.

The privilege is being able to not care if a cop pulls you over and cites you for it.

A privilege is a special right or advantage. I have no special right or advantage. I just don't care if I get pulled over for that, and I'm willing to pay for the consequences of my wrong doing. The risk-benefit analysis is worth it to me.

Yes, you are displaying a privilege. It's a special right or advantage that there are others who do not have.

There is no special right or privilege here, anyone with a vehicle has the right to risk to not use a front license plate and pay the fee. There is no privilege associated with being able to afford a thing. I worked for it, I can afford it. This isn't something special, anyone can do this.

You seem insistent that you do not have what is clearly a privilege. Maybe you should consider why you're so hung up on this. Honestly, I don't care that you have a problem here, it's your problem and not mine.

Being able to afford something is not a right or privilege.
Privilege: a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group.
I was born in a poor family, took it upon myself to join the military use my GiBill to get a good degree and a high paying job and work my ass off for the last 25 years, no privilege about it, I earned it. My kids will have the privilege of not having to worry about college tuition, but not worrying about a $70 ticket for my plate is not a privilege.

Weird, you keep saying this. I do not think you understand what it means.

Literally, yes, money is privilege. You seem rather attached to ignoring that. I do not know why.

This is a question for all of the California based Cybertruck owners. I know that it’s a state law that we’re supposed to have a license plate on the front of our cybertrucks. But of course it doesn’t look as good. Are you all putting a license plate on the front of the vehicle or going without it and waiting till a cop potentially tells you to put a license plate on the front?
Are you allowed to put a decal version on the frunk face, middle, left or right. Kinda like a wrap, so you don't get a wrap sheet from the Cops!

just wait till the cop tells you to put it on
The day after a car show in '86, the motorcycle Cop noticed there were two different plates on my '76 Superbug Kabrio.....KABRIO on the deck lid, and KARMAN on the front bumper bar.....
I told him l had the car on display at The Day Of The Volkswagen on the Sunday. He said, when you get home, change it back please!

Isn’t there a California exception in the license plate requirement if the front plate would affect the aerodynamics? Maybe that’s why a sticker plate is offered. Although, it would be difficult to argue a front metal plate would reduce Cybertruck aerodynamic efficiency to any significant degree.

just because you have a lot of money doesn’t mean it’s a privilege to not care about a $70 ticket.

it’s called a mindset.

Big difference.

I know a lot of people who live paycheck to paycheck and still don’t care about spending $70 on something they think is worth it.

meanwhile I know many wealthy people who would be ultra bothered to spend just a few extra dollars on something they could easily avoid.

Mindset. Not privilege.

That's even more a privilege!

Weird you guys are so stuck on this, it's like there's a specific reason you don't want to admit being privileged over others.

The two legged guy is privileged over the one legged guy. The rich over the poor. Those who don't worry over those who do. And these mix and match and are often quite situational!
