Frunk not opening completely.

Hey all!

So this just started to happen about a couple weeks ago, occasionally the frunk won't open properly when opening it from inside or pushing the exterior button near the bumper. By pressing the button on the exterior or the frunk open option from the screen, the trunk attempts to open but stops as if blocked. waiting a moment and pressing it again the frunk opens without any issues. Seems like the latch to unlock gets stuck occasionally and this doesn't happen EVERY time. Simple issue and a little frustrating but I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing this? I'll attach a video if people would like to see what I'm talking about. Might have to schedule a service appointment soon.

That's cool and thanks for the info but it's not a matter of what the frunk is set to open to, it's getting stuck somehow. You hear it pop open but then it doesn't really open at all. Waiting a few seconds and trying again it opens all the way. As mentioned, it's inconsistent and doesn't always happen. I'll try recording it.

No not yet. Just took it in to get it looked at for the inverter recall and mentioned the frunk issue but they didn’t fix the frunk. It’s such a minor inconvenience but will keep this post updated. Naturally it didn’t happen when I took it in but as soon as I got home it did it again first try. Part of me thinks it has something to do with the auto frunk open option when you stand near because it didn’t start happening until I got that update.

Exactly 100%. It then pauses, chimes a couple times and goes down. Pressing the button again after that it opens completely no problem.

Although since the holiday update I got earlier this week, haven’t seen it happen since.

I have this exact same issue, a 37000'ish number.
Please let us not what the outcome is...

I've been having this issue recently as well. Happened to correlate with the brutal cold we were having in Iowa the last 2 weeks. Happened half a dozen times so far but second attempt always works fine. Today it was in the 50s and worked fine. No idea if they are related. More annoying than anything at this point.
